best drugstore ST

i've decided that im going to switch to sunless tanning. i might still go do the beds once and a while, but im going to do sunless for now. What is the best drugstore sunless tanner? I dont want to be orange, and at the moment im having bad money problems and really cant afford to get the sunless tanners at sephora or at the salon. Im naturally pretty pale and i want to be a nice summer-y type of brown if that makes sense haha. Is there any that are not orange or fake looking that wont streak or be uneven? Also would it be better to get a sunless tanner or a gradual tanning lotion? Thanks!

jergens is pretty good...i havnt tried the "firming" one but the other one they had smelled sooo aweful but it was beautiful color...they say the new one (firming)tho doesnt smell.

thanks i was just looking at jergens on some site and it got really good reviews. i just dont know if i should get the fair one or the medium one? I get really confused by that which is why i usually dont try them haha.

go for medium...its a gradual tanner...so u can cut back if it looks to dark... (which NEVER happens in my book) :)

Jergens is nice. It gives a great glow. I have used it before and then been asked if I had went tanning haha, when I wasn't in my tanning mode. Although, the smell is a bit too much for my liking. However, if you do ever want to get the Jergens three day tan (or something like that, it is in a little brown tube) be very careful. I was super duper dark and it turned my feet and hands orange and streaky. But it does look good, just be careful with hands and feet. Hope that helps you!

Coppertone tinted moisturizer in Medium the results are amazing after one use and the color is super natural. Personally Jergens dries out my skin, Coppertone is much for moisturizing and the smell is better. I used it for the 3rd time last night and this AM it looks like I layed outside yesterday. This lotion is still hard to find, I found it at Walmart and sometimes Ulta has it, I am sure you can find it online. Since not tanning I have tried about every drugstore ST and this by far is the fav.

I felt that Jergens dried me out too. I used to do a lot of ST but I just cannot handle the smells anymore.

I am having a hard time with the smells too. Coppertone is a bit perfumy to cover up the DHA. I do find the smell is a bit strong the first 1/2 hour then I can deal with it....but sometimes it does trigger a migraine. I just bought faux tan ST by Bare Escentuals it sells on QVC and the bottle I bought comes with a kubuki body brush and it is awesome. The brush really helps you apply the lotion in small circular motion and the brush is perfect for hands, knees, feet. So hands do not get stained. I think this is my new favorite sunless tanner. Color is VERY natural I have only tested it and not done a full body yet.

I tried the self tanners for about 2 months & just couldn't deal with the smell the splotchy fading, The hassle of getting a smooth coverage. I would rather be white as chalk than deal with that stuff.

Yeah, the smells can be a bit much. I always feel that I smell like a bottle of ST for days after I put it on, even after I shower. It makes me really self conscious. So for me, I think it is about just finding a good smelling one. I'll definately have to check out the BE one! Thanks!

I must admit though ST, especially gradual ones, have improved majorly over the last few years. I remember I used them when I was in high school (5 to 6 years ago..I just felt old) and they would turn my sheets orange, my pajamas orange, my bra..ugh everything.

lol omg self tanners were even worse in the late 80's and early 90's!(now I feel old lol) I remember when I was 13 and used my moms Cliniques self tanner and yikes big mistake it was a orange nightmare lol things have improved for the better thankfully
