Tanning canopies??

(Sorry if there's a double on this thread, I'm having issues with the search function today!)

Basically, my tanning bed is not going to happen the electrical upgrades required to even plug it in would be more than the bed itself... plus the issue of not enough space for it.. so I decided to look into tanning canopies for the time being.

I know they have less bulbs (I'm only looking at minimum 10bulb models) and they take way longer to tan, but at the moment it takes me about an hour and 40 minutes total just to get to the tanning salon, tan for 25 mins, and then come home... so the extra time required to tan without leaving my house doesn't really bother me. I'd rather spend that hour relaxing/tanning than on the road.

My question is, do they work as well as base beds if you have the time to sit under them? I'm Irish so I'm not super black, but I like to maintain a dark base tan year round. Plus I'm thinking if I'm the only one using it, then the bulbs would probably do their job and last a long time?

It's really hard to find info on these anywhere, except from sites that are selling them! Looking to hear from anyone that has one/has used one more than once!

I've used them before. If you don't mind the extra time it takes to tan, then go for it. Depending on the bulbs in the bed, you can get a good tan from them.

I wouldn't mind owning one of those if they work good. I have always wanted to try one, but I have just never came in contact with one!

Hmm well I just bought one yesterday from a lady selling hers.. it's only about 5 months old so the bulbs should still be okay.. It's a Sunquest 2000s with 10 bulbs (I think they're by Wolff or something) so we shall see!!

I'm just waiting to hear back about when she can deliver it to me, but I'll definately try it out for a bit and let everyone know! I'm so freaking excited to try this thing, it BETTER be decent lol.

My tanning canopy came last week, and I wanted to make sure I used it at least 5 times before I reviewed it... well I LOVE this thing, so glad I bought it!

It was especially great because today was the first snow of the year where I live (and I hate winter, and leaving the house in the winter) and it was awesome because I just stayed home, had some hot cocoa and went for a tan. It's bigger than I thought it would be but I like that it stands up for storage, I just have it standing vertical in the corner of my room. And best of all, no re-wiring my house for it!

It has 10 Wolff 'Velocity' bulbs, which I don't know alot about but I think the base beds at my salon use the same ones, so I'm happy with those. I may have to replace them soon because they're not brand new, but I got some good color today so we'll see. I'm still going to go to the salon every now and then for a boost, but it's so far away it's just so much more conveinent to tan in my room!

Anyways, that's my update is case anyone else was wondering about canopies.. I posted a full review on it in the Equiptment Rating forum, under ETS (Sunquest 2000S).
