I posted a similar question in the spray tan forum and most of my responses were to ask the salon so I thought this would be a good forum to receive an answer from somebody who knows
I have light to moderate acne over the past few years and would like to try the spray tan. I think Mystic Tan is the most common around the Kansas City, Missouri area. I am worried that the tanning solution may cause my face to break out. Could somebody tell me if those spray tan solutions are comedgenic or clog pores or whatever? Or if they have a history of making people break out? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Ace - The Main Even |

I would love to answer but I honestly don't have the answer. Have you ever used any self tanner at home before???? I will try to pass this on to a manufacturer and see if I can get a response.

Teresa,
I would appreciate that. I'm sure there are many others in the same situation I am in! A definitive answer from a manufacturer or other authority figure would be awesome! Thank you, Ace |

I checked with Performance Brands and was told that there solution is non-comegetic but he could not speak for all manufacturers. Salons that have the Mystic Tan may or may not use Mystic brand solution as there are many available on the market. Hope to have more answers for you soon.

No Performance Brands is a manufacturer....they make Fiesta Sun/Pro Tan lotions plus they also have a sunless liquid that is for use in airbrushing and other spray on tanning booths. I have a good relationship with them so got a quick answer form them. Salons that have Mystic might use the Mystic Brand of solution or they might use anither brand, you will have to ask.

The mystic tan solution is 65% Aloe Vera Gel, so it is very good for your skin, all of the componentsin the solution have been used in cosmetics and food products for decades and have been proven safe on the skin. However, some of our clients prefer not to get it on their face so they place a shower cap over their face as well as their hair. And don't worry, their face doesn't look ghostly white next to their body. You could also go to the salon and ask for a patch test. We sell mini bottles of the solution for touch ups, you could test it on a small area of skin. But we have never had a problem with people breaking out. Good Luck!
