How long do perms last

I heard they last like 6 months from someone??i thought you were lucky if itd last a month n a half...like how long would it be for it to grow out so you can start straighten it back to ur regular hair style...??

Everyone's hair is different. At school our little old ladies with short tight curls get one about every 3 or 4 months. Someone with a long spiral perm will last maybe 6 months or longer.

IMO unless you're willing to commit a long period of time to it, or your hair is short, don't get one. I've seen so many girls with beautiful straight hair hate it after a month and want their straight back. It can be very damaging, especialy if your hair is colour treated.

If you really want some curl, I'd go for a loose wave. Ask them to use the large perm rods on you.

It's been many years since I've had perms but with my hair which is naturally wavy they would last a good 6 months.

It rally depends on your hair type I have been doing hair for 5 years and I have seen perms last any where from 1 month to a year! Like I said it really just depends! Different factors you will get different results the type of perm you use, the size of the rod, the hair type, and the texture!

i called and asked my mother she did hair for 30 years. she said on average 4 months. some less some more

i've had some perms last longer than 6 months but it depends if the hair is color treated or not. seems to last longer if done on non color treated hair.

i used to do the spiral perm thing..80's hair and i would go about every 9 months..225 rods and half a day later..nice long spirals..it does depend on your hair..my mom has been perming her hair every 4 to 5 months ever since i can remember,,probly 35 years..my sisters hair wont hold a perm..her hair is baby fine and it just doesnt work..what are you looking for? a temporary thing? you would be better of with big rods and a little body if you want to be able to attain a straight look frrm time to time..you can blow dry it out straight and it will have alot of body..

My hair takes perms very well and they last an extremely long time. My hair is also a pain for the stylist to roll as well.

Well i got it done...and she said my hair is "heavy" so what does that mean...i mean it came out cute ..not like CURLS CURLS..but looks cute..how long you suggest??

if your hair is heavy it won't last as long. It all depends on how you take care of it and stuff. It is really hard to tell, if you want it to last work with the curl so it stays better.

My hair is so straight a perm would last forever, like a year minimum, I would have to chemically straighten it back!!!
