Tanning & Cell phones

It never even registered in my head that people would do that! How wacky! Why on earth would you want to do that? I wonder if they have cell phone shaped tan lines after.. heheh.. I bet a few comments about that would keep them from doing it again!

I've had my phone ring a couple of times while I was tanning but I never answer it if I'm already in the bed, I just check to make sure it's not one of my kids in case there's an emergency anyone else can wait for a call back.

I have talked on my cell while tanning. Nothing happens to the cell phone. I am worried that I am talking loud but I dont think I do. I have never been told anything.

For the first time last night I heard someone talking on their cell phone, I thought it was the weirdest thing, but from the sounds of it, it sounds like it's more common then I thought. No more singing for me either!

Ugh, I just had someone in the room next to me, last night, be loud as can be on the 2-way of her Nextel. It was soooooo annoying!

I always call Jack before I go tanning, and then put my phone on silent until I'm done. Tanning time is my 15 minutes for nothing to annoy me and I don't let my cell ringing ruin that for me

i hate it when my cell rings when i am tanning thats my time to relax i try to put it on silent but i forget sometimes! and then when i tell my friends i am tanning they keep talking lol!

I either turn my phone off or turn the ringer off.. I've had to over hear some pretty bad calls when I worked at the salon!! I don't think people realize that the fans & music do "not" mute the sound of thier screams & "other" things that go on in a room... Its called TMI...

I never even thought about anyone actually talking on the phone while they're tanning. That just seems strange to me. If someone calls me while I'm in the tanning bed, I just let it ring.

What phone call can't wait 20 minutes? Believe it or not there was a time when weren't around and if someone had to talk to you they would have to wait until you were at home or go somewhere to track you down.

I dont even hear my cell phone ringing when I'm tanning because of the noise

I always put my phone on silent before I go into the salon...kind of like the movie theatre policy or something in the back of my mind. haha I would feel sorry for the person on the other end if I were using my cell why tanning because of the noise from the fans.

I take my cell phone in the bed with me, because its the only way to keep track of the time since there are no clocks in the room, and sometimes I like to switch to different positions after so many minutes. So of course, there have been times that it rings while I'm in the bed... I don't answer it all the time, but there are days that I'm just busy, so I'm squeezing tanning in and I can't always use tanning as a time to relax or "me time". So rather, I figure that sometimes I need to use my time more efficiently and since I am just laying in a bed doing nothing for 20 minutes, when I need to take the call I will. I don't think there's any harm in that...

I completely agree with this. People are now tanning while talking on their phones?! It's bad enough having to listen to conversations in the next stall while using the bathroom. If someone interrupted my tanning and relaxing time by being loud on their cell, I'd' ask to be moved to a different room.

Also, I've had several friends who left their phones in their cars on a hot day and it damaged their phone. So I imagine if you have a long tanning session and the phone got too hot the same thing would happen.

I just don't see the urgency...if you're that busy should you even be tanning in the first place??
