Which base bed?

Which of the following two base beds do you think is better? Or are they pretty much the same, just how much time one wants to spend tanning? I go to two salons, and one salon has a bed with 32 lamps at 120 watts, 20-minute max time (lay down). The other salon is a stand-up, and it has 42 lamps at 100 watts, at 11 mins max. What would you rather use? Thanks... don't know anything about beds

Re: Which base bed?

some beds will work differently for different people, of course, so it really is a matter of preference. but i think for overall best even tanning results you should do both! whichever you like best, do that one more, and then throw the other one in to even it out :)

Re: Which base bed?

Which ever salon changes their lamps more often!

Seriously though, I'd go with the lay down. SunDash Competition beds use 32x120w lamps and even though they've been around forever they still produce a great tan. The stand-up sounds downright anemic with 42x100w lamps, I'd surmise the max tan time is only 11min because people don't wanna stand in hot metal tube for half an hour. For comparison, the Radius stand-up uses 52x200w lamps and has a 12min max time. I actually prefer stand-ups over lay downs, but again, the salon that changes their lamps more frequently is going to give you the better tan. All things being equal, the lay down should give you a darker tan.

Great information! Thanks, this helps a lot. Makes sense, too.
