When will you start Christmas shopping?

OK, I feel a little crazy starting this thread....but, this year I have already started my Christmas shopping and so far I have quite a bit done. There are still plenty of items I haven't purchased but I have decided what I'm getting everyone and researched best pricing online, sales, etc. I think I've bought about half of the presents so far.

Normally I shop the week prior to Christmas but last year we got screwed because of the major snow storm: we were stuck at our house and could not get out to do any shopping and UPS/Fedex didn't deliver any shipments to my area for 2 whole weeks because of the weather so many presents didn't come until a week after Christmas! :( It was such a bummer and I don't want to go through that again.

Just curious who else is getting on it early this year. I'm definitely a bargain shopper and it pays to shop around at the sales and check promo codes online, etc. I love www.retailmenot.com for promo codes for many sites online. Love it!

I've started my Christmas present shopping already too !! I started early October.

I've so many family and friends to buy for that I decided this year I am starting early.

Last year I left it too late and it was a panic to get everything... so stressful!

Its great to get it done and out of the way early then I can relax and enjoy the festivities and the socializing as Christmas gets closer, without worrying about those last couple of presents!

I got my first christmas gifts like a month ago. I think I'm pretty much done. The rest is just making cookies. That's what most people are getting. I'm not much of a shopper, people usually just get money from me. That adds up fast. So... eh. Cookies are cheap and easy. And "thoughtful". lol.

Ive started a little bit, i mainly worry about giving my sister a good Christmas honestly, Jons parents usually give me an amazing Christmas and it means alot to me for my sister to experience that too..My parents aren't the best " givers" if anything, i care about her soo much that i just do that because i want too and i think everyone at least deserves a smile on christmas and something to at least look forward too, even tho christmas isn't about gifts and what ever... I bought alot of little stuff for her.. cute stuff tho, im ordering the coastal scents 88 shimmer palette for her on friday cause she super badly wants that :)! I'm assuming i'll get it before christmas, i know some time's when things have to go through customs it could be bit of delay.. but ive read reviews and stuff online there shipping seems to be quick!

i usually start black friday, but im super broke, so this year itll depend on if the plasma center opens back up. im also thinking about donating my eggs:S

I start about 1 week before Christmas.

I really have a problem with all the Christmas commercials, decorated malls................. starting the first of November. Christmas is "one day" not two months long. Really turns me off the whole Christmas thing. If I did not have children I would skip it all together.

Drives me insane too. They started putting a few things out at B&BW in early October and now it is full blown Christmas!
Dollar Tree started putting Christmas wrap and ornaments out in September.
Then you have the stores that start blasting Christmas music like NOW and I just want to do all of my shopping online. Plus, a lot of the vendors are being extremely pushy and almost reaching out to touch you to get you to stop and look at their flat irons, hand creams, etc. I realize everybody has to make a living but 10 times out of 10, I am at the mall on my lunch break and in a hurry and just don't have time.
Whew.
Anyway, I have been thinking about starting and the motivation is not there yet. I'll get there after Thanksgiving!

were starting on nov 20th we also have to do birthday shopping because our daughters b-day is on dec 8th, so lots of shopping to do, and were going to be decorating the house *inside* on the 20th too! i really go all out when we decorate, i cant wait to be putting up the tree!!

our thanksgiving was loong ago in October, so once Halloween is done in Canada everyone starts on x-mas RIGHT after!
but that's ok because i love Christmas! and i LOVE being able to celebrate if for a month n a half!

I haven't started yet. I usually leave it for the last minute, but I really can't this year. I've got to do it over time. I'm a poor college kid though, so nobody on my list is getting big presents, but it still can't hurt to start early. My problem in the past was that when I went Christmas shopping, I usually just gave the present to whoever it was, usually my boyfriend, and said, "Here, early Christmas present," and then had nothing actually ON Christmas, hahaha!
