NEED HELP!!! Removing self tanner.
Hi guys, I need your help! I did the mystic yesterday. I used the barrier cream on my hands and feet but I've got a strip along side my left foot that looks horrible and is so obvious I did a spray tan. I am at work right now and since it is casual friday I am wearing my sandals and you can totally see it. I am so embarrassed!!! Is there any way I can remove this before people start noticing?!?!?! HELP!!!

Help removing self tanner/mystic spray solution
I did the mystic yesterday and I have a streak on the side of my foot that is extremely noticable. Is there anyway to remove this immediately?

Re: Help removing self tanner/mystic spray solution
You could try a heavy-duty salicylic acid product, combined with a scrub followed by nail polish remover (at least I've heard the nail polish remover may work ...). When done, add a layer of soothing moisturizer and it should at least look visibly softened.
Walter - do you have any of your "sunless guru" advice to add in case I'm way off base here? Good luck! |

Re: Help removing self tanner/mystic spray solution
First hand experience even though somebody may have something more gentle. I used to do Mystic tan and self tanner a few years back (the old ST stuff)
Straight acetone on a cotton ball and gently dab the offending spots then rinse with cool water. A salt scrub is harsh but will work or if you can get your hands on some sand and a little salt water. I had an awful Mystic experience prior to going to the beach a few years back and ended up using the wet sand to exfoliate the orange stripe off of my legs. It worked like a charm!

#1 Baby oil, put on undesirable area, let soak for a few minutes, gently exfoliate with a wash cloth. #2 lemon juice- haven't tried this one but heard it works well #3 Anything with bleach or chlorine, be careful, harsh on the skin. |

Re: NEED HELP!!! Removing self tanner.
You need to exfoliate the top layer of your skin; buy a bar of LAVA bar soap.
The third ingredient as cited on the back of the package is pumice. I use it once a week to exfoliate all over anyway; it's a fantastic, inexpensive product. Bear in mind for it to work, you need to rub the actual soap bar against your skin - as the soap bar itself, and not the lather it produces, is something of a mild pumice stone. |

Check out http://www.sunless.com/application/getting_it_off.php
Hair removers remove it almost completely for me. You should, however, only use one method of removal to avoid overly irritating your skin.

Re: NEED HELP!!! Removing self tanner.
Hey guys. This post is actually 5 days old and it only just showed up here today. After I posted it it said needed a moderators approval but after several hours it still hadn't posted so I reposted it and it went right thru. So, I'm no longer in need but I did find a very inexpensive way to remove the mystic solution on my foot. I used a Mr. Clean magic eraser and it worked like a charm. I couldn't believe it actually worked! I LOVE the magic eraser!

Re: NEED HELP!!! Removing self tanner.
Yeah, others have done that at the sunless.com board. I've never personally tried it, but apparently it removes it almost back to the natural skin color.
I'm glad you were able to fix your sunless tan ^_^
