I go to a cute, little family owned tanning salon called Aloha Tanning. A lot of people recommended it to me before I started tanning, and every time I visit I see more and more reasons why. Everyone there is SO nice and helpful, its easy to feel really comfortable there. They're always quick to help you with anything you need, I feel like they really care about their customers.
Now, I have their 20min base bed package for a month for 25$, which is their cheapest package, and they only have one of those. But if someone just got in it, sometimes they'll ask if I want to go in one of the other beds, just so I don't have to wait, for free! I would never ask for it or anything, they are always the ones to offer. Its happened a few times now, and honestly with that kind of customer service they'll probably be keeping me as a customer for a while.
Of course its never a stand up or an hp bed, but I love this salon so much, and they just keep getting better and better!

Do people really stay in rooms that long afterward?! I'm out of my room before the bed is even done cooling down! Geez, what are they doing in there? lol

My old salon back in the day was great like this! If someone had to wait more than 10min for the bed they wanted they hooked you up up in whatever bed was available and didn't charge you a upgrade fee...

When I get out of the bed I immediately use a moisturizer/extender, then get dressed, and then fix my hair etc. I do a lot after and I'm still only in there for no more than 5-6 min. How someone could spend that much time in there is beyond me....and why would u even want to??? Lol

The worst is when they fall asleep in the bed and they're in there forever...

We do this, too, when the wait is greater than 4 mins. People love it.

Agreed!

My gay best friend does that (stays in the room forever!) I hate going tanning with him! Lol! I swear he's in there 45 minutes! He brings a bag, and after tanning he fixes his hair, applies moisturizer and other body products, and then stands in the mirror and takes photos of himself in his undies to show his tan. LOL! I don't go with him anymore because he takes to long.

And that^ is why many salons don't have mirrors in the rooms...

Agreed!
I once had a lady who fell asleep in the bed (while another customer was waiting for it, mind you) for 20 mins after her bed shut off. I knocked on the door, woke her up (or so I thought) and then she went back to sleep for another 20 minutes! Obviously the waiting client got a free upgrade to my highest level bed.
A few days later, she did the same thing! Luckily, it was a slow Sunday and no one was waiting for the bed. It did scare the crap out of my PT girl though, she ran up to me (my day off) and told me someone had been in the room for over an hour after the bed shut off.

Holy crap! I don't fall asleep anymore and couldn't if I wanted I don't think but when I was younger I did and I always woke up when the bed went off. I was scared I wouldn't wake up sometime lol..
I go to a chain.. no free upgrades here:rolleyes:
Wouldn't there be a LOT of upgrading during busy season though? Especially if you did it for a simple 4 minute wait? I understand long wait times but unless you're a huge salon where waiting is rare, it seems like an upgrade for a 4 min wait is overly generous.

My salon has signs up that basically say "GTFO, there are vanities for you to touch up your makeup and hair at!" They have mirrors and such set aside for you to do all of that stuff outside of the room, so usually people are in and out. I understanding applying moisturizer/extender after getting out, but seriously, even if your salon doesn't have a vanity or something, use the bathroom mirror if you have to touch up your makeup!
I just wish my salon would give me a little more time to actually get in the bed! They give you three minutes to get undressed, put on lotion, and hop in. I think five minutes would be more reasonable. Usually they don't do that unless the day is really booked, but when they do, it's hard to apply lotion evenly in that amount of time and all. Or maybe I'm just inexperienced . .

Yeah, I've kinda dozed off in a bed before, but the click of the bed turning off always woke me up. I'm pretty sure hat lady was on something because I was knocking none too gently on that door. The second time, when my PT girl was working, I had to pound on the door like the police were gonna break it down to get her to wake up and the doors are kinda flimsy, I thought I might put my fist through it if I'd hit it any harder.

My salon had three beds down due to cracked acrylic (they all cracked within three days of each other), so in the silver level there was only one bed to use, and in the gold level only one to use also. They did no free upgrades at all. People were waiting forever, or had to take a downgraded bed.

No, I hate having a time limit before the bed turns on- the salon I go to doesn't have that- you just press the start button when your ready- which I love! My city has tons of tanning salons so I went to a bunch before being happy spending the money on a package somewhere.
