I have only recently started tanning again and it had been a LONG time. I was ghostly white and when I started back at my salon I tanned in the ETS Sundome XL standup for 6 minutes. I have since been tanning for about 2.5 weeks and am up to 10 minutes. I have used the SunDash Radius 252 standup, Ergoline Advantage 500, Ergoline AvantGarde 600, Ergoline Excellence 850, and Ergoline Open Sun 1050. The OS 1050 I am able to do about 8.5 - 9 minutes in because it gets pretty hot. The 850 is the one I have built up my 10 minutes in. However, I have just recently discovered this forum and realized that I had no idea what I was doing with myself.

I now know that I need to incorporate some more of the lower beds in so I can build up my color more - I was wondering why my color was taking so long to develop as it usually does not (if I were to tan in the sun). So, my question is this..if I am able to do 10 minutes in the higher 850 (my salon calls this a Platinum bed) will I be able to do 10 minutes in one of my salons lower (or Silver) beds? Or should I cut the minutes back? I am unsure if I will burn because of the difference in the UVB rays.

Also, would there be a better bed to use of these lower beds? These are the "Silver" beds my salon has: SunDash Competition 232G or GF, Ergoline Ambition 250, and then the SunDash Radius 252 Standup. There are also "Gold" beds..but the silver ones are the 20 minute beds and I was thinking these would be best for building a base?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

If you are going in a premium bed (gives you a deeper longer lasting tan) for 10 minutes, with a normal max of 12 min you can go in a smaller 20 min bed (surface tanner) for 12 minutes so long as you arent turning pink at 10 in the big bed. I would go in the best 20 minute bed your salon has to see nice results wether thats the ambition 250 or whatever.. the tan will fade faster in the small beds but will give you pretty immediate surface results. Try a lotion that is melanin activating, DS has a nice and pretty affordable one out called More More More.
