Some people wanted to know the results of my taking Melanotan II. If I can figure it out, I'm gonna post my before and after pics right now. I've been taking this stuff since 08/27/08 and went to the tanning salon only once (a 12 minute booth with no lotion, just moisturizer) since then, and prior to that I hadn't been tanning at all in 3 weeks. Please don't tell me how crazy I am for taking a non fda approved substance (most of you take vitamins that aren't fda approved), thank you. Sorry I only have one before picture of my arm, I don't know what happened to the picture of my white face but I did include a pic of my after face because for someone who hasn't been tanning much its pretty remarkable.452

That is impressive!! I have never been 100% clear how it works, you do need UV to make it work, right? Like if you didn't tan at all you wouldn't see any change? I assume if I did Melanotan and also kept tanning four days a week my tan would be insanely black?

Oh! I thought it was a pill. I could never inject myself with anything. I'm a baby when it comes to needles.

Where do you inject it?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melanotan

A pilot Phase I clinical trial (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinical_trial#Phase_I) conducted on three males by the College of Medicine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_school), Pharmacology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharmacology) Department, University of Arizona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Arizona) in Tucson, Arizona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tucson,_Arizona) published in 1996 demonstrated that, "Melanotan II has tanning activity in humans given only 5 low doses every other day by subcutaneous injection."

It has some pretty interesting side effects... Hahaha!

I was thinking about trying this, honestly... because I've hit a major plateau! But I'd like to learn more about and hear more stories from REAL people using it.

The injections aren't nearly as bad as people think (its really all in your head and if you psych yourself up and do it quick you won't feel a thing). I injected in my stomach. You can do it in your inner arm, inner thigh, or your stomach. I tried my inner arm and didn't have enough fat there and stabbed a muscle and bruised (that was painful let me tell you). So i tried my inner thigh and i think that hurt worse. So finally I went to my stomach (plenty of fat there!) and it didn't even hurt!! I found out later that its the best place for injections anyway!

I just started this last night and did it in my stomach as well! It did not hurt whatsoever...but i did start flushing immediatly after but no big deal though! I hope it works for me!

Oh and by the way, I didn't go tanning in the two months I took the stuff because my hands and face were so ridiculously dark I started to get scared because I've never seen them that dark before. Now that I'm in the "maintenance phase" I take one injection a week and tan once a week in a bed (if I even do that, I'm kinda lazy with regular tanning now).

I'm just thinking how absolutely insanely charcoal black I would be if I did Melanotan and kept tanning 4 days a week. Hmmmm!

Wow, that is impressive.

So what exactly is this Melanotan? What substance do you inject into yourself? I don't quite understand the concept.

I would love to try this out though.. but do you have to have a certain skin type to make it work better to achieve darker results?

And I like the fact that you don't have to tan a lot either.. I have been soo lazy about tanning now.. haha.

It's injections and I have never been entirely clear on how it works, except it seems to require at least some minimal UV. Apparently it is aimed at people who want a tan but are very fair and can't get it. Here is the main forum for discussion. If you read through it you get very mixed impressions of how it works and the side effects.

I know, but I have been so dark before and would love to know what would happen. I would probably get arrested or something!

It shouldn't be too difficult to find a fatty place and jab yourself, it's only difficult if you have to try find a vien.

Wow. I've never even heard of anything like this. This is all new to me in the many years that I've tanned.
I for one, probably wouldn't trust something like this...but that's just me.

Is this stuff even FDA approved? What are the side effects?

That stuff is insane...personally, If I came across a drug still in research and not approved for human use, I would steer clear. JMO... oh, and for the OP... your inner arm is NOT a subq site...it's the outer back part that flaps when old ladies wave (lol, hard [place to give self injections). That's probably why it hurt so much.
