What is barrier cream and what do you use it for?

Barrier cream is the lotion when you use Mystic Tan. You put it on your hands, feet, and other areas prone to soaking in too much of the tanning solution. Most people put it in their elbows, knees, etc. It doesn't block all of the solution, but it supposed to let the right amount through. Hope I've helped.

All barrier cream is really is a petroleum based moisturizer. The self tanning solution does not like that so it does not stick to you. The reason I brought this up is that some people have the mistaken idea that they need to exfoliate and then moisturize all over before they do the Mystic. This can have the effect of putting barrier cream all over your body if the moisturizer is petroleum based which many are.

Oh wow. Thanks Rich for pointing that out. A lot of moisturizers that can be bought at WalMart, etc. are petroleum based.

I had to about arm wrestle a lady one day over this. She was convinced that she had to put moisturizer all over her body before she sprayed. I finally could not get her to listen so I just told her to forget it because she kept getting lousy results and would not listen to me
