10 min/20 min...which do you prefer?

I was just curious what the majority of you use as a base bed...a 10 min or a 20 min bed? And do you see any difference in your tan between the use of the two beds?

the salon I go to has only 20 minute base beds.... and that's what I use 75% of the time.

I prefer the short amount of time, so I can get in and out in the least amount of time.

I like 20 minutes beds but I usually end up getting out early. I think you get a better tan laying in 20 minute beds.

see i dunno what everyone means about 10/20 mins beds?.... we just have 100w beds and 160w beds.... personally i just use the mega(160w) beds for 5 mins(so quick)....

The base beds in my salon as well as the cybers there only go to 20 minute max time.....some days I would prefer to only go 10 but since its not an option where I am....I go 20.

They just told me today that the 20 min beds that they have give you more of a surface tan and fade faster compared to the 10 minute beds which give yu a deeper tan cause there are more uva rays ( browning rays, whichever that one is)

My salon has 20 minute beds, 10 minute beds, 15 minute beds and 1 12 minute bed. I actually prefer the 12 minute bed. I get the best color from it.

I use the 9 minute stand-up and the 12 minute lay down at my salon; average about 4-5 days a week!

I use the 20 minute beds. I'd much prefer a shorter amount of time. There's only 1 orbit in town, and this time of year, it's booked solid. As soon as it dies down some, I'm gonna try it out.

I usually use the 20 minute base beds. I don't mind the length of time EXCEPT when it is really hot. Then, I am fidgity the whole time just waiting for my time to be up. I sometimes use the 10 minute stand up and I definitely like the shorter time.

I usually hop in a base bed about once or twice a week, the rest of my sessions are medium pressure with a few hp's thrown in here and there. I prefer longer sessions (for relaxation purposes) but don't always get to do those. Plus, a lot of base beds are smaller and I like to be comfy!

I like the 20 minute base beds. I like being able to relax while I'm tanning. 10 minutes is too quick for me, unless I'm in a hurry or it's really hot.

I use 20 min beds. I'm able to relax and drifet away with the fan blowing on me and music playing. It's my escape.

For me, the longer the session the better. It is the only time of the day that I can't be reached for any reason! It is my mid-day power nap, and I take it very seriously. My salon has a lot of 20 min base beds, but I have been in a plateau for so long that when I tried one, it did nothing for me. I use their MasterSun unit and it goes 30 min, and I will fight for my time in it, it's that good!

I think 15 minutes is ideal! I have been using more base beds lately (not that my skin is happy about it, so I will have to go back to my hp's more often). Sometimes 10 minutes is not enough, sometimes I'm too restless to stay any longer. If I'm really tired, I'll take 20 minutes so I can really rest!

I used to use the 10 minute beds a lot (because I thought they were better, like not being a surface tan & higher UVA) but I see MUCH better color from the 20 minute beds with more UVB. The 10 min. beds w/ higher UVA are more expensive here (twice the price of 20 min.) and I just wasn’t seeing much color at all. The last time I upgraded, I saw NO change at all, so I stick w/ the base beds. I think everyone’s different, that’s just what I’ve experienced. That’s the only thing that’s hindered me from spending $30 on a HP session, I mean if I don’t see any color from the 10 min. UVA beds, why waste the money, but I still would like to try it anyways to see what I’m not missing...lol

I like the 20 minute beds - they're not NEARLY as roomy as the upgrades but the longer amount of time is nice - it makes me feel like I'm getting tanner, lol.

i usually use the 15 min beds, but there is a 30 min bed with bronzing bulbs that i use once or twice a week. and if i go to the better salons in surrounding areas, i use the 10 minute hp beds and stuff.

Well, a few years ago, I only used a 10 standup in my old salon, but now I love the 20 mins Base beds, I gotta have my power nap! My salon has 5 base beds, but she's putting in a standup soon, so I'll be going between a standup 1x a week, and the beds 2x, so I should do really well in color

Yeah, My friend has a 15 min Novatan bed in her salon, and I love it. I get way better color from it then the base beds my other salon has, so I'm tanning at my friends salon for awhile. I really like the 15 min bed, just enough time to "Meditate" for, but not too long that I get bored

THe salon I go to has 10 minute booths and 12 minute beds. I use the 10 minute. I don't think I could handle 20 minutes.

The beds at the salon I go to are 15 and 20 min beds. I always use the 15 and I end up getting antsy, so I doubt I could handle 5 more minutes.

We only got beds that go up to 20 mins and a booth that goes up to 12 mins. I usually tan the whole 20 min simpley cause it feels so good to lie down and relax after working out at there gym for 2 or so hours. But sometimes I only go for like 10 if I dont wanna get way darker.

When I started tanning, I used 20 minute 32 bulb beds. After a month I stared using the 12 minute Starpower or 15 minute Solaris beds. I also like to mix it up with their 12 minute Sundome. I like the Starpower bed the best because it has a lot of room and has 4 – 500 watt facial tanners.

I guess it's okay to answer the same question again if you answered it a long time ago! lol! I used to do 24 and 30 minute hp beds when I first started tanning, and really got the best color with them. But I get bored easily, so my optimum time is 12-15 minutes max.

I don't mind using the 20 minute bed at my salon because it has a good cooling system so it's comfortable and I usually catch a little nap If I'm pressed for time I'll use the 12 min. bed.

45 minutes sounds like a lot, what types of beds are these??
