I have a burnt face even though I used my saving faces like always. I guess the new bulbs were just too hot. No where else is burnt though thankfully. Has anyone else had a bad experience with new bulbs???

I've had a bad experience with bulbs that haven't been changed enough...I actually had my tan fade!! But no, not a sunburn in a bed yet. Just burned things that hadn't been exposed to sun yet...my butt has turned bright pink on many occasions. My salon puts up a little notice on the front door that says "HOT! New bulbs!!", so I can always lower my time when they put those in. You could ask the people that work in your salon to tell you when they change the bulbs, and then you can change your time from that.

Yep, I've had that happen several times. It makes me so mad, because then that messes up my whole tanning schedule while I'm waiting for the burn to go away.

I tan about 2 to 3 times a week and my face still burns...sometimes
I guess it could be the new bulbs.

They warned me about the change of new bulbs and I did lower my time a tad, but still to no avail. Do you think I will be able to tan on monday night??

That happened to me awhile back ago. They just said, "The bulbs are new, so the bed might be a little hot." -shakes head- That was so wrong, haha. It was SO hot, and I didn't know I should lower my time, so my butt was bright bright bright red for a long time... It's still a bit purple... Really sad. They should tell you and not take assume that you know.

Andrea, just cover your face with w towel if it's still pink tomorrow. That will be fine.

I've never burned in a bed before, even if the bulbs were new. Well ok I did once. It was a new salon and a brand new bed and I burnt my butt. Yep those were the days. I'm sure we've all been there. teehee

I've had problems with my tan fading cause they didn't change the bulbs when they needed to also. I hate that so much!!

Talk to the manager or owner about them not changing lamps often enough. If things don't get better, find another salon!

your salon has a fiduciary obligation to let u know what's going on with the bulbs..your health and safety is at risk otherwise.

It should be the salon owner's (or employee's) responsibility to let you know that the lamps have just been changed, and to adjust your time accordingly. New lamps should not mean you have to burn.
