Today I went running at my local park and on my 3rd mile I noticed that my fingers, on both hands, had become really swollen and tight feeling. The swelling was really noticeable. I continued running and stopped after my 3rd mile because the swelling scared me.
The temperature was around 82 while I was running, I know I am very hydrated today, and running 3 miles is something that I am used to.
Does anyone know why my fingers would swell while I'm running??

Well, you already said you were well hydrated so my next guess would be 'how was your sodium intake the last day or so?'

Well...I have probably been on the low side lately. Do you think it could've been an electrolyte imbalance?

This has happened to me while I was walking with a client. Even though you may think you are well hydrated, you probably aren't because the temperature is quite warm ther for you.

this happens to me every single day when i run or walk the treadmill. if you were swinging your arms quick and for a long time, your blood could have gathered in your fingers, sort of as a pendulum-type thing. it's usually nothing to be concerned about, as long as it goes away when you stop running and it doesn't get to the point where you can't close your hand at all.
