Has anyone used a high pressure tanning unit? I've never tried one but I'm interested to hear about your experiences with them. I'm thinking of giving it a whirl.[ This Message was edited by: njchica on 2003-05-04 11:38 ]

I love them!!! Though I still love VHR beds. I have only been in two different HP beds. One the canopy came down when you pressed the button and it also talked to you LOL. The other one didn;t. You get great color. I like to tan in one every once in a while to get a boost on my tan.

The Omega at my salon is one of my veeeeeeery fave beds. i LOVE IT. i get the greatest color from it. I also really like the sunboard, the other location i sometimes tan at has that one... and my salon is supposed to be getting the new sunboard.. the 15 min one i can't wait too bad they won't have that one for my birthday tan.

We were supposed to be getting an Ultra Bronze in this a.m at the salon I work at but we had an interruption from Mother Nature.I have never tanned in one but I did a little research on them in order to talk to the customers & to know what I'm talking about.HP is supposed to not be as damaging as conventional. Not as drying, for one thing.I know nothing dries my skin out more than a session w/Hi Tan bulbs.Hopefully I can try out the HP within the week.

A few times, I used an Ultrabronze Eclipse at a LR tanning salon. I loved the bed but I hated paying the high price for the bed. Even with a package, the price was high but the colour that I got from the bed was fantastic and the tan lasted a long time too!
I also like the fact that the beds produce much less of that "tanning odor".
From what I have read and heard about HP beds, the tan you get from them is more on the cosmetic side and really doesn't protect you from the sun's higher UVB content. Anybody want to verify this? From what I have read, the HP beds produce 99% UVA and only .5 to 1% UVB.
I would love to see the HP beds make an apperance in my town but I don't think the townsppl want to shell out $20+ per visit
So, if you haven't tried one out, do so.
No, I don't sell the beds but when I did use them, I liked them a lot!

I have tanned in an ultrabronz hp and in a matrix....have to say wasn't real impressed with the ultrabronz but LOVED the matrix!!!! I don't have any hp units in my salons, but when I travel I like to try out new equipment.

I love HPs too, and I use one about once a week in my rotation. For those who use them, what frequency do you think gives you the best (ie. darkest) results?

for getting your tan, usually a session every 3-4 days for up to 6 sessions, after that usually 1-3 times a month to maintain, depending on skin type
