I had the chicken and bacon ranch wraps today. It's pretty good. On the other hand, I was pretty disapponted that they were not that big, and they had no sugar-free ranch dressing.
I asked them and they said it's made by Kraft. The prcessed food kings. So I substituted the ranch with regular mustard.

I guess Hardee's has a new low carb thickburger now. Instead of using low-carb buns they some how wrap it in lettuce.

I am enjoying finding new places to eat that cater to the low-carb lifestyle. TGIFriday's is the only other place I can think of so far. I was dissapointed that Applebee's picked up the Weight Watchers menu instead of Atkins. WW will make you keep you hungry and chunky. Been there done that.

HoneyBee...I have tried the Hardees burger...it is wrapped in lettue and they also wrap it in a little "envelope" of waxed paper to make it easier to hold. 5 carbs and it's good.

Ruby Tuesdays so far has THEE BEST low carb menu...you really are dining out and eating like everyone else...right down to their awesome 6 carb BIG slice of cheesecake with cinnamon nut crust. YUM!
I will have to check out subways stuff now.

Subway is cheaper than Quiznos though! What's so expensive is all the extra crap you get with the sandwhich.. yesterday I got a footlong meatball for like $4 so it wasn't that bad.. oh well... I love subway!

try In-n-out... you can have any burger as a "protein wrap" and it will come wrapped in lettuce so you can eat it like a burger.

No, that reminds me of The Chef from South Park. I forget the name of that song he did.

I don't get it? We eat meat like crazy. Red meat is a must on Atkins.

Thanks fot telling me about Ruby Tuesday's. There is one not to far from my house, but I have never eaten there. Now I have a reason too. The cheesecake sounds wonderful too.

We actually have a low-carb superstore here in town. It's awsome. It helped give me a better idea of all the stuff I can eat.

The low carb Atkins wraps at Subway aren't actually that Atkins friendly. My mom said they still have like 12 carbs which is more then she consumes in two days. Also with the low carb thick burger from Hardees if you take off the tomato and pickle it becomes EVEN MORE Atkins friendly!!! Just thought I'd share.

The wraps aren't meant to be used in the induction phase of Atkins at all. However, with them only having meat, cheese and sauce, they are very friendly.

Not with the wrap though, that's what I was saying.

They have less than 10 carbs per wrap.. I think about 6 or 7 grams, so it's still not as much as you're thinking.

How many carbs do they have? I'm back on the diet after being off for the holidays.

Still one wrap is more then enough carbs for an entire day of food.

Aren't people on Atkins allowed like 20 carbs a day or something?

wetkissez
01-14-2004, 01:43 PM
You know, I was just doing a little research and ran across the fact that while the wraps have less carbs, they each have almost 500 calories!! And we all know that those of you who diet should be restricting calories to lose weight. There are plenty of sandwiches at Subway that have at least 200 less calories than the wraps, which would be a more intelligent pick.

Yes, during the induction period then you add 5 grams per week until you reach your plateau.

Eating that few of carbs can't be very healthy! Has anyone tried the Hardee's burger on lettuce? Their burgers have so much grease that usually the bun soaks it up. How does that work the lettuce?

BrOnZeDbOmBsHeLl
01-14-2004, 02:42 PM

Kristygal

I have...they must blot the burger to get rid of excess grease because it was pretty good, I thought. My husband loves them!

ok...I had a chicken/bacon wrap from subway finally, and while I think it's smaller than they lead you to believe, I would have been over-full anyway if it were any bigger.
I enjoyed it.

I buy low-carb tortillas en masses from www.latortillafactory.com (actually they seel them at my local grocery now, soI just get them there) but they are SO GOOD! and only 3 net carbs per!!!

So I eat a lot of wrap style sandwiches at home.
