NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
I know some people take ephedra for cold symptoms also. I think it's the main ingredient in sudafed.

Gosh...yes it is about time. That stuff is so hard on the heart and brain tissues. Sometimes people do not see the damage until years later after they have stoped taking it. I am glad this stuff is finally illegal.

a derivative of ephedra is used in cold stuff. pseudoephedrine.

Well im glad this stuff got banned. It didnt sound like it was to healthy at all for people to be using. I have been using Xenadrine Ephedra Free and still lost weight and kept it off.
I don't know much about this.. ok I saw a special on HBO. Don't meth makers use cold medicine with the stuff in sudafed to make meth?

Xenadrine hasn't been made with ephedra in a long time if I'm remembering correctly.

does this have caffeine (kola nut) or another stimulant that would keep me awake at night? does it really supress your appetite?
RoxyCCS

it contains ma-huang...if you take it before 6pm you can sleep fine. it is best to take in the morning & before you work out (i thinks it goes through the system faster that way) it is a major appetite suppressant..(even the ephedra free version)

ma huang will keep me up...probably can't take it after noon! i might try it though.

you aren't supposed to take it if you have problems processing sugar (hypoglycemia etc.)

yeah it is still legal here, in Canada not banned, but I do kinow it is bad, I have taken it, not prod if it really tho lol. I know it is in a lot of cold medicines, and that causes problems in kids.

I'm so happy they are finally banning this. People don't understand the damage and how unsafe these are.
Even the ones without Ephedra, IMO, aren't safe. Its not safe at all if your taking a pill and loosing pounds/inches by the day!

It helped me with the appetite somewhat. It didn't make me totally not hungry though. I finally figured out that I couldn't take them after 5 pm or so if I expected to sleep well that night.

well, a lot of ppl with weight problems aren't eating because they are hungry; i don't see how this could be an effective way to lose weight if it is an emotional issue. but if it's just a few pounds, might be a good option.

don't get me wrong, banning ephedra is a good thing! but ppl still need to be cautious of herbs containing caffeine as well. they can cause the same probs as ephedra

It makes me sick to think back at how many Metabolife pills I took when it was popular and that I could've died from it. I stopped taking it because it made my heart beat fast and I got the shakes from it.

I'm sorry, I think it is stupid that they are banning this because one hundred something people died, while cigarettes and alcohol are still legal. Doesn't make sense to me. How many people die each year from lung cancer? How many people die each year from drunk driving accidents or alcohol poisoning? I don't personally take ephedra, but I think people need to be responsible for their own actions and take medications PROPERLY, and decide for themselves if the risks are worth it.

Very good point. I guess the makers of these products don't have the necessary connections or have enough money to line the pockets of the "right" people.

Exactly. And what is even silier, is that most of the companies stopped using ephedra in their products a long time ago.

i used to work for a plaintiff's attorney who was involved in a class action lawsuit, suing the makers of metabolife and other stuff that had ephedra in it. funny thing was that all the girls working there (paralegals and such) were all taking it! note the irony!

I sorta miss Ephedra. It was a good product used in moderation. But those people who abused it or didn't use it properly, ruin it for use all.

Ephedra is a really good weight loss supplement, its just that stupid idiots took too much of it. People trying to diet would double the dose, and then not eat, thinking they would lose more weight, when in reality it would hurt them. As for those athletes that died, I mean come on, most of them weighed quite a bit and were doing extreme exercise on a really hot day. It's their own fault. Congress right now is trying to ban even more supplements, including ones that boost testosterone.

Yeah, I gotta agree with yall.... I don't personally take diet pills anymore for years now, and that's FOR the main fact of the Negatives I've heard associated with them, but I also quit Smoking and Drinking to years ago for my health, it all comes down to personal choice of what you want in your body or not .... so don't get me started on taking things away because they end up Hurting someone.... Way to many things out there for that, ya know.

Yes sudafed and actifed have a main ingredient to make their drugs. I used to work at a pharmacy and it is illegal to sell more than 3 boxes of this stuff to one person. We also had to have it locked up because it was a high theft item.

I have been ephedra free for a couple years now. All it is, is a form of speed. If you want a good metabolism booster that is ephedra free go to www.advocare.com and check out the MNS multinutrient dietary supplements. I use the platinum myself. It is ephedra free, loaded with vitamins and minerals, curbs hunger, boosts metabolism and just flat out leaves you full of energy and feeling great without being overly hyper.

I like the Advocare products, too. The platinum MNS is a more nutrionally-sound way to go.

okay, here's my 2 cents. i'm somewhat against the government parenting us. however, i've used plenty of ephedra-based supplements from xenadrine to hydroxycut. they all give you a nice kick in the pants before a good workout. however, i've never noticed them helping me get more ripped. nothing does for metabolism what eating right, eating often, hitting the weights, and doing intense cardio will do. period. i know that plenty of people swear by ephedra. plenty of guys older and more ripped than me. but i personally stopped using "thermogenics" and haven't noticed a difference in my leanness. i still drink espresso, but don't get anywhere near as jittery as ephedra made me. if you read all this, thanks. i hope it helps you.

Products that used ephedra were a joke. The people you saw inteh advertisements were not people who miraculously lost wieght taking the stuff. For example hydroxycut used Lee Priest, a world class bodybuilder. They would show a "before" pic of him in his bulk up stage and the "after" pic was when he was shred down for competition. The man has been doing it for years, bodybuilders bulk up in the winter months looking fat and out of shape. This is caused by the insane ammounts of high protein food they eat. When it comes time for competitions they start shredding all the excess fat. They know how to eat and excercise to drop teh fat all the ephedra did was give them a little more time to bulk and get just that much bigger

I know of many people that take double dose of ephedra. But I am responsible. I think it's my right to use weight loss/energy pills. They come in really handy. Beside I even know a chick who got off cocaine by (basically) switching to Nitro's and then cut out the Nitro's. Maybe they can just market ephedra like they do nicotine patches!
