To Headphone or Not to Headphone, that is the question...

Does your salon have radios with or without headphones. i know i personally bring my own music (mp3 player with over 1700 songs on it) but even when i didn't have my mp3 player i couldn't bring myself to use the salon headphones especally since u know other people have been using them and sweating into them and they aren't cleaned.
any one else have an opinion on this?

Honestly, the stores that my dad owns do not have head phones. You can use the radio inside of the bed or bring you own. In most of our beds we have built in radios/cd players.

My salon has speakers built into the wall at the head end of the bed and there is a volume control right there so no need for headphones

I have seen some salons like that. Vince Lorraine I think his salon is Tropical Tan has his salon with speakers into the wall. He lpays his favorite radio station and it is funny because some of the other tanning salons(NOT HIS) advertises on it.

i wouldn't use somebody else's headphones, i don't think it's hygienic.

mine has built it speakers but no volume controls, head phones, or cd players. it plays this pop station all the time and i absolutely HATE it!
maybe ill buy a mp3 player like anya. can you bring those in the beds?

i bring mine in with no problem i make sure i have enough cord to the phones and i am good to go

The salon I'm now tanning at has speakers built into the walls. There is no volume control, and it's kept on a country station. The salon my hubby's still tanning at has radios in the rooms, but some of them don't work.

the salon i go to now had radios in every room but most of them did not work at all so they got the central system that now u just plug the phones in the the hole of the station u want to listen to

I've tanned at a salon before that had headphones, but didn't use them beacause of the germ issue.

My salon doesn't have any music in the rooms I've been where they've had radios or the speakers throughout, never been to a place that offered headphones, but I don't think I'd use them, it seems unsanitary.

I wouldn't use them unless I knew they were sanitized. I saw a talk show (can't remember which one) where they went around to everyday places and took swabs of surfaces we touch on a daily basis and tested them. Let me tell ya, it was disgusting! Ever since I saw that I put my coat over the back of movie theatre seats because they found all kinds of gross things there where you sit and put your head. I've always been one to grab a papertowel to open doors in public restrooms, but other places are just as dirty. I don't use airline pillows anymore either because they are not washed betweeen flights, only after all the flights of the day are finished. I could go on & on but I'm grossing myself out!

I wouldn't use them is they are provided. They are not sanitary.

we clean all of the head phones after each person is in a room,we clean the radio,the deodarent bottles, the handwipe cases,the body sprays, the door knobs!!! u name it we clean it!!!!!!!

yeah,we're clean freaks around here!but i know a lot of people think like you guys because they'll take the head phones out and blast their music!!!so i guess it all depends on the person.

i know most salons are not that much of clean freaks.

i know before i worked here, i went to many dingy salons that looked kinda nasty,but they were affordable for a young teenage girl so i continued to go.then i found my place and soon after started working here!!!!

my salon is very clean they just don't clean the headphones. if it wasnt clean i certainly wouldn't be tanning there for how many years lol

i mean i knew my old place cleaned the beds and things,its just when you walked in the walls are a brown color and the carpet is brown,the radios sucked and u could tell the beds were older.but i got tan and that was all i was worried about.my salon looks fresh and clean when you walk in.its very salon like and its soft colors and dimmed lights.its very relaxing!!!!

I bring my mp3 player with me. My salon has stations I don't like and there is no volume control on them.

we have very nice high end headphones and they get sprayed with lucasol and wiped down after every tan..i opt for peace and quiet while i tan though

Nope, my salon has little portable stereos in every room, and we just turn it up enough so we can hear our own stereos...

The first salon I went to had headphones but I didnt like them. All I ever heard was static. The salon I go to now just has a built in radio on the wall and you can turn the volume however high you want. I like that better.
