Wow, I'm amazed by the amount of information on this site. It's dizzying really...
I have tanned on and off for some time, but haven't used any lotions. What should I use? What is the best online site for buying them?

Welcome to Iamtan Tex
Well, there's plenty of lotions out there, and I'm sure you'll get plenty of recomendations.. but I love all of the Fiesta sun line... and some others... but what lotions do ya like? Bronzers, tingles, hot.. ??
Oh, and we don't list online sites on the board.. This site is owned be a Salon owner, so out of respect for him we don't talk about or list online lotion sites
Enjoy the site, and with a little more info on types of lotions ya like, we can help more

I haven't used enough lotions to know. The gals at my place are recommending JA's Plat. 0 cooling, or something like that...
welcome texas! You've been tanning without any lotion? Maybe your salon can recommend something.

That sounds great. Make sure its the zero tingle version. Stay away from strong tingles! If you have never used one before.
what lotion brands does your salon offer? we can reccomend one for u if you'd like, let us know... PS welcome to iamTAN

Boo, you should consider offering salons consulting services to help them sell lotions. maybe swap tanning for consulting. from what i've seen you've tried everything out there.

Welcome . What lines does your salon carry, and we can reccomend some good lotions. There are many different types of lotions. I'll help you out and 'define' them for you.
Accelerator: No tingle and no bronzer. Just a lotion. Most people use this while building a base tan, or to maintain. Some people will only use these.
DHA Bronzer: A Bronzer with no tingle. This is the same thing as an accelerator, except it has an igrediant (DHA) that dyes your skin and lasts 2-5 days. It takes anywhere from 3-12 hours to develop. Most people leave these lotion on their skin for atleast 4 hours without showering to let the bronzer set.
Tingle: This is a lotion that will turn your skin red, and your skin will feel tingly. Some people love this type of lotion, and its all they use. Others hate it and have recations. You should try a lower tingle before starting out too high, first.
Cosmetic Bronzer: A bronzer that acts as "make up" to your body. It washes off in the shower. Most people don't like these lotions, including myself.
Some lotions are "combos" such as Tingles+DHA Bronzers. That means there is a tingle and a DHA Bronzer in the same lotion. Some lotions have the DHA-Cosmetic Bronzer combo.
Have any questions? Feel free to ask

Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the replies! I just got back in town from Maine (skiing and family time, etc.). When I got in my office, my products were waiting. Based on what I had read on here, I ordered JA's Plat 0 and CT's X Appeal for the face. Comments?

I didn't like the smell of Plat0-- too much like Vick's Vapo-rub, but it's a good product.

Welcome to the board! Another Texas poster! Yay! I have never used the Platinum Zero, but a lot of people here like it, so you probably will too. You will be suprised how much better your tan looks when you use a lotion! And don't forget to moisturize after tanning and after showers!

Next question: I never wear those little goggles they leave in there. Any reason I should if I can keep my eyes closed the whole time???

Starts from the parking lot at the mall across the street from the salon and goes down to town hall. yea, i wonder who came up with the kitty litter idea!

so what do the ppl in new orleans do? don't those go a longer way and aren't they slower?
are you going to throw out free tanning passes?
Mrc4608
12-30-2003, 11:04 AM
new orleans has shorter routes and they don't throw as much stuff. i usually throw about 5,000 beads, stuffed animals, footballs, candy, bouncy balls, etc. sorry no tanning passes, can't throw anything that advertises anything.

You really should wear those. You can get night vision loss and other eye problems from not wearing goggles. I really reccomend wearing them
