Mendi,
When considering a franchise, the first thing you need to do is determine what your goal of having a salon is. Is it to just work in the industry? Is it to be in business for yourself? etc.
If your goal is to be in business for yourself, you need to rething franchises. Planet Beach, like many others, require you to be open certain business hours, they dictate the types of equipment you can have, etc. To me, that is not owning my own business. That is managing.
Whatever you decide, just really investigate all of the pros and cons before jumping in. And best of luck to you!

I personally do NOT like Planet Beach. I went there for the first time with a pretty dark tan, and they would not allow me to tan for more than 12 minutes! They also give you only 3 minutes to apply your lotion-I like 4 or 5, though I usually do not require the whole time. One time I was halfway up my legs, and the bed came on! Sheesh! The second time I went, simply because it was close by, they allowed me 16 minutes. (keep in mind, these are the low pressure beds). Grr! My favorite salon is a bit out of the way, but I love it! Great packages available, all types of beds, and when you spend money (!) you get "points" which can be used to get discounts. And the owner is so sweet! If she gets a new product in, she will often offer me a sample to try it because she knows if it works, I will buy it. And she always has samples for sale of every lotion she sells. That is very much appreciated!
