well I bought a package of 5 for $60 here in TN. But they tricked me by not telling me that the levels of spray go down unless you pay extra. I will never spend another $ there again, I don't like crap like that. If they had told me up front, it would have been different. I think it's called the ole bait and switch and I'm sure most owners don't do that, but this guy did.

I wasted a lot of money on this. I am very pale so I expected to get a huge difference after the 1st time, at least the 3rd, but I didn't. I even upgraded to the longer spray once. The only thing that got tan was my fingers and ankles even after applying gobs of the barrier cream. Maybe my skin's just ammune to it but I'm very upset I paid like $100 for a package and did not get results. Plus it's a pain, you can't just take off your clothes, slap on some lotion, and take a 20min nap like you can tanning.

maybe it works better when you use it to inhance your tan instead of making it your whole tan.

well if u do the mystic a couple times a week u can get pretty dark. but yea it does enhance a tan beautifully.

How long does the color last?

Anya1976
05-30-2003, 07:38 PM
well it's supposed to last 7 days but i would say 4 or 5 depends on how much you moisturize and if you use a body puff when you shower

i guess it would be a good idea for a special occasion. otherwise I think i'll probably just stay with the beds and the arizona sun.

i would do it for a special occasion most defintely i won't do it every week too expensive for that.

hi, i just wanted you to be aware that i thought this would be so wonderful and bought 2 sessions (30.00) a piece and did them over my regular tan like 4 days b-4 i went to vegas like 3 weeks ago and it all came off within 6 days so there for my regular tan slightly went with it. Dont use it unless you have to for a special night or something. it is beautiful for the first 2 days but after it is not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

The mystic tan costs $20 per session at the salon here in Denver. If you want to get the most out of it, you need to make sure you exfoliate your skin the night before. Also don't use any oil-based lotions before getting sprayed - only water based products. The oils can cause mystic to not adhere properly. After you get sprayed, make sure to moisturize your skin ALOT over the next few days. That will keep your tan and help prevent streaking.

I'm opening up a new salon and I'm trying to decide on the Mystic booth or the Sunless Express by ETS. Anyone have any comments on which one is the best? I've heard a lot about the Mystic but not the ETS.

I tried the Mystic last year and got absolutely gorgeous color after two sessions, and my skin is Irish/English very very fair. No streaking at all, but as someone else pointed out, you need to be sure and exfoliate your skin before the Mystic, and also not to use any lotions on your skin beforehand -- especially if you are going in a tanning bed or booth first. You need clean, exfoliated skin for the Mystic solution to adhere properly.

I should probably share this since I just heard my salon tell someone this the other day -- she recommended only a Level ONE for a first-time Mystic tan if they've just changed the solution. Don't know if it's true or not, but just wanted to pass it along. I think it's important to pay attention to what the salon recommends as far as solution levels are concerned; they're there for a reason. (I also noticed customers being in too much of a rush and demanding a level three Mystic when the salon recommended only a level 2 for their skin type...)

I have done this twice recently (in the past month). I had NO streaking, and it definitely made me darker. (and I am already DARK). My salon charges $15 per visit, or $30 for 3. Lasts a few days, didn't notice really how many because I was still tanning in the beds. May do it again today as a matter of fact.

Well I have very fair skin. No matter what I do I can NEVER get a tan. I'm either white or red from being burnt, no in between for me. So I heard about this mystic tan and wanted to try it. But how long does it take to fade, and when it does eventually fade, does it go back to my original skin tone. Because I don't want to be tan one day then the next day be completely pale again. People would think that's a little odd.

I tried the mystic and this is when I wasnt using the beds so I was pretty pale. I loved how the color looked and I didnt get any streaking. Though my friend said she got a huge streak down her leg so she hates the mystic now. The only thing I didnt like was what happend to my face. It started to peel and Id have lighter spots in areas. It looked so bad. I had to scrub it all off. It didnt do this at first but after like 3 days it did. I had exfoliated before I got the mystic and everything and had no lotion on. I didnt find that it lasted a week like they said. More like 4 days. A session here in Canada costs $30. Then they sell you this spray on touch up stuff for $20. All in all it was okay but its way too expensive to do all the time so Ill stick with the beds cuz I have no problems there. Though I may try it once over my tan to see how nice it looks. I guess the mystic has its good and bad reviews. Its not as amazing as everyone says.

If you were unhappy with the results of the Mystic tan it's probably the salon's fault. They either don't clean the nozzels out enough or they use a cheaper solution other than Mystic's, so they can make a little bit more money. I used a Mystic the other day. I know this salon does everything the right way. I was very happy with the results, great color and no streaking. If you used a Mystic and weren't happy with the results, I would try another salon that has it, before giving up on it.

Try the Magic Tan booth, to find one near you go to www.magictancorp.com. I only use this for tanning, never use the uv beds and I am very satisfied with the results. It is more expensive but it looks grat and is fast.

oops..new here so that post was bogus. I'm thinking of using Mystic Tan regularly here in Albuquerque, about $100 a month would get me regular visits (roughly every 5 days) but I've got a typical "guy" question. What the heck do you use to exfoliate?

I tried the Mystic Tan, and didn't like it, due to the following reasons. You can not control the flow, or make sure all areas of your body get the spray. I know that it works for some people, and that is great. But, for me, I tried AIr Bursh Tanning and loved it. And now, I'm opeing up my own air brush tannign salon.. have been tanning people in their home snow for about a 3 weeks. My salon will be ready to open in about 2 weeks. For me, their in greater control with the airbursh, and you cn be made darker or lighter at your request...and for me, being a cancer survior, I can't use a tanning bed.....so, I spray on my tan-lol....and love it.

tabasko

lady Morgain. How long does airbrush tanning take? and id it comparable in price to Mystic tanning? I know I'd create a disaster trying to self-tan myself. Not a cancer survivor, but a prime candidate for skin cancer, I too, cannot use the sun or a tanning bed.

On a first time sprayee- if they have no base tan what so ever- it takes me about 20minutes o do the spray. If they have a base tan some what- it takes about 15 minutes. Depending on the persons skin type in the first place, and if they take care of their skin after spraying, using moisturizer,etc....the tan can last about 5- 7 days. And again, this isn't for everyone. There will always be people that are die hard tanning bed fans, and that is okay. As I have told people before, for the person who burns easy, who doesn't like a tanning bed, or for the fact, that this product is all natural-sugar cane by product- you aren't exposed to the harmful UV rays from the sun, or from a tanning bed. If you have any other questions, please free to e-mail. Thanks.
