View Full Version : Another Tingler Question

Hi everyone,
I have another quick(?) question about tingle lotions. Does a tingler increase sensitivity to UV? In other words: Am I at risk of burning if I use a tingle lotion and spend the same amount of time in the bed?
I'm up to 12 minutes in a 20 minute bed with no burning. The other night I used one on my legs and it seemed to make a difference in color and now I want to try one everywhere else (well almost everywhere).
Thanks for all the great help.

You really shouldn't use a strong tingle until you have a pretty good tolerance to ordinary lotions and beds. You might well burn if you upgraded. Try a tingle on less time to see what happens.

What do you mean by "pretty good tolerance"? Should I wait until I'm up to the max 20 minutes in a base bed? I'm very patient with tanning but I want to make sure I get the maximum benefit from the time (and money) I spend. Thanks Bonnie. BTW, your pictures look great.

You could probably handle a low-tingle if you're not burning and if you've already tried it on your legs with no trouble. I guess you should just be cautious! Maybe go for 10-12 minutes with it and then gradually increase your minutes. Everyone reacts differently!
By the way, I'm a BMW lover too; I have a Z4!

The Z4 is a great car! I take it your like your 150 MPH tanning machine?
I am hooked on BMW performance and handling. I have a '97 528 right now. It's Montreal Blue with a light grey leather interior and burlwood trim (of course). My next BMW will probably be a Z4. The Z3 feels too small but the Z4 is just right. I'm also considering the M5. It's the same chassis as my 528 but with 400 German ponies. A friend let me borrow his and it was scary fast!
Oh and thanks for the tanning help.

Quote:Does a tingler increase sensitivity to UV? As far as I know - not directly. While (some) accelerators realy incresing sensitivity, a tingle increases the blood circulation in the skin.
Btw.: Do you know what for the german acronym B. M. W. stands? "Bekloppter mit Wagen" - "Nit with a car".
(OK, it stand for "Bayrische Motoren Werke" "Bavarian Motor Works", blue-white are the colours of Bavaria, a *very* special state of Germany, at least from a nordic standpoint.)

Thank you! Okay, "Bekloppter mit Wagen" - "Nit with a car" goes only for bavarian BMW drivers.

I never heard that one. Hehe. I also didn't know about the colors. I was also told though the logo is also fashioned to look like a propeller spinning propeller viewed from the front. Mabye they did aircraft engines at one time.

ok if u use a tingle and tan for the same time in the bed that u have been without burning, no it should not "make you burn" lotions do not make you burn only overexposure does. so if u move up your time in the bed and use a tingle for that session is was NOT the lotion that did it, it was the moving up your time b4 you are ready to.

IMO tingles are for people who have hit a plateau & can not get any darker in the full 20 minutes & with regular lotions. I would bet your still seeing quite a bit of color every time you go & I would wait until after you've been going the full time for a while & don't see as much change.

Hi Jaime, You're right. I do get darker every session now. I alternate between a base bed and a booth to try and keep things even. I'm going to continue using the tingle on my lower legs since they were hardly tanning at all, but I'll probably hold off on using it anywhere else until I'm maxed out. Altough, I do want to try it on my shoulders because they are not tanning as well as the rest of my torso.
