Anybody else take 'em? Are they working for you? I hate the ones with ephedra, they made me feel terrible. I took Xenadrine EFX a year ago to help me lose some weight I had put on after a bad injury. Along with diet and exercise, they worked well. Now I'm trying to lose another 10 pounds through diet and exercise alone (without the pills) and I'm not seeing a weight change or any inches coming off anywhere. Just thought I'd see what everyone else's experiences with them have been.

I have some metabolife or something like that laying around the house. I'll probably start to use something like that pretty soon so that I don't pack on the holiday pounds. I feel that it's so much easier to put on pounds during the winter because you don't want to go out and be as active as during the summer. I really hate these winter months.

I just started to use the xenadrine also, I really want to take off a few pounds I packed on over Thanksgiving before Christmas comes. Hopefully once ski season starts I'll burn up more calories and not gain so easily - Winters tough

If I took diet pills I would have a seizure! Be very careful using those things! I dont trust them.

Don't use them! Sorry, girls, but they're bad for you and can really mess you around. Short term gain at best, and not worth the risks.

I've heard a lot of bad things about pills in general, buy IMO the kind w/o ephedra are okay if you use them responsibly. They helped me lose over 20 pounds last Christmas that I've kept off ever since. (It's time to attack these last ten! )

Agreed. I don't think its natural at all to take a supplement that will make you loose weight.
And the sick thing is, right when you stop taking them the pounds start packing back on!
I say go for the Atkins diet, mixed with good foods, plus an active workout! [ This Message was edited by: ForeverTan27 on 2003-12-05 21:39 ]

I took Metabolife and Metablolite when they first came out, but I'm glad I stopped. I don't think there's a such thing as a miracle drug to lose weight. I don't trust any over the counter medication for weight loss after the ephedrine scare. Who knows, in a year from now they could find that Xenadrine has a harmful ingredient. I used to pop Vivarin all the time in high school because all my girlfriends were taking them, how stupid.

I agree! I know some say Xenadrine are safe, but theres no way they can be if no physical work is needed. I'll find some stuff on google. I really wish the FDA would ban these...

Yeah, if you wanna lose weight just starve yourself for a few days, it works. Or you could kill two birds with one stone-stop eating fast food and carbs, and lose weight and kill your spending habits at the same time. Diet pills are bad, I have a friend who took them too long and now he can't gain weight now that he needs to.

That reminds me...
2 years ago when I played football for my middle school, there was a weight limit. You had to be under like 165 I think, and this one kid (I didn't know him, but he went to a near by school and our coaches told us bout him) had to loose like 30 pounds and REALLY wanted to play. So he took diet pills, did not eat for like 2 days straight, only drank water (which is good, though i guess!), would eat very little - like only once every 2 days.

Well, guess what. His wish came true. He lost like 50 pounds, he was a RAIL. He had to go to a sepcial hospital in Pittsburgh and was in the hospital for months. He couldn't gain ANY weight back, and was extremely sick.

I would NOT reccomend diet pills. Please people, don't do that to your body.

Yeah, it ruins your kidneys too. Just starve yourself if you wanna lose weight, or ditch the carbs

Im taking Xenadrine EFX. I only take half the dose and it is and has worked awesome for me. I have lost around 50lbs in total now since april. Im down to 125lbs now and only wanna lose about 5 more. I dont see the pill working if you dont work out. I try to work out every other day but sometimes go like a week strait of going to the gym.

I think if something like xenedrine is used in moderation along with diet and excercise it's fine. Like anything else if you abuse it - it will become dangerous for your health.

i starved myself for a year and a half and it worked wonders then, but as soon as i snapped outta my ED and started eating, ive gained sooooo much wait back and now im in the same predicament as before.so starving yourself is not the answer either!

In the United States especially weight gain/loss never seems to be a winning battle. So far the only thing that I've heard that works on keeping the weight off is the Atkins diet. Best of luck to the others out there who are having a problem in the weight department.

It certainly is not! I've been fighting a battle with bulimia for eight years.

There is a simply rule on diat pills: if they are harmless, they are not working, if they are working, they are not harmless. They are forbidden in Sweden and most of the European Union for a reason. Don't use them!

Please people..don't use these! If you look at the side effects, even on the non-ephedra free ones, it will tell you everything. Some of them are (uncontrollable) shaking
That right there should tell you that its not good for your body.
It is also hard on your heart, makes it pump a lot faster!

You will thank your self later on if you don't take these.....

I don't trust diet pills, but I do like those herbal energy booster's right before I go to swim or do some other workouts. The Firm makes some pretty safe pills. They made from GreenTea and Ginsing mainly.

An oldie but a goodie huh..... I am also against the diet pills, though I used to pop them like candy 10 - 15 years ago, but with age comes knowledge *well, it's supposed to * and I've read and heard enough negative things about diet pills that I won't touch them anymore, especially with health issues, like I have

Please don't use them folks, you won't see it right away, but straight diet and excersize will do the trick and keep working as long as you do it. You can't get something for nothing, work for it and reap the reward

I have took diet pills in the past, I started when I was 17 and took them until I was 20. I loved the feeling I got on them I had so much energy. I took every diet pill that contained ephedra, they were the best. I had worked all the time, hardly slept, never had a appetite, and I still had the energy to go to the gym and workout for and hour and half. Then, I started abusing them, I still took the right dossage I just never got off. You are only supposed to stay on a diet pill for 12 week cycles. I went straight for 3 years, yes. They didn't do anything for me I was so addicted to them. When I went to the doctor I found out that my digestive system was all messed up that scare me alot. I quit but it was hard, I was getting headaches, always tired, moody, and I had no more motivation to workout. It took me three months to get back to normal, then they banned ephedra which was good for me because with all the hours I work I would have probably went back to it. Now they have ephedra free diet pills, but they still arent't natural ingredients and in the ephedra family. So to all of you out there, just be careful. I started off wanting to lose a few pounds and get a little energy boost and had intentions on only using one bottle and I was so wrong. You can get in shape and healthy through diet and exercise.

I have to admit I took them for a little while about a year ago. I didn't take much but I lost about 10lbs. Eventually I knew it was just time to stop because I was afraid something awful would happen to my heart because of them. Any one who wants to try them, please be careful and use the ones WITHOUT ephedra. They will seriously hurt you in the long run. But they are very effective.

I used to work for metabolife when they had the karts at malls...DO NOT TAKE THESE!!!!! All they do is hype you up. They do number on your body and are not worthe the risks. If your trying to lose weight, and stay healthy doing so, proper diet, exercise and a little patience will work better than any diet pill. Don't put your health at risk to lose a couple pounds. If your worried about gaining a few "holiday pounds" try to eat smaller portions and space out your meals rather than chowing down and over eating during one meal. And exercise will not only ward off those pounds, but will also help reduce stress during the holidays.

Excellent Advice!
