Welcome to the board, RingletsofRays!! What you wear when you tan is really up to you, most people tan in the nude. As far as pricing goes, it varies with each salon. I would call and ask the salon you're interested in tanning at and ask them what their prices are.
As far as convincing your parents to give you "consent" why are they against you tanning? Also, why do you want to tan? Just to tan or for an event, a vacation? What skin type are you? Can you develop a tan outdoors? If not, you may not be able to develop a tan indoors. Answers to those questions can help us help you better.
You really shouldn't need sunscreen when you tan indoors. One of the advantages of indoor tanning is that you can develop a tan without burning. You should, however, use a good tanning accelerator lotion. Austrailian Gold's dark tanning accelerator is a good one to start out with. Using tanning lotion will keep your skin moisturized while tanning. Moisturized skin tans better than dry skin. It will also help to make you darker faster. Stay away from "drugstore" tanning lotions that contain mineral oil, they can damage the acrylics on the beds.

Well, if your parents are against you tanning, there may not be anything you can do to convince them to let you tan. You could try explaining to them some of the advantages of moderate indoor tanning like not burning, or that tanning is a good source of vitiman D, just to name a couple. You might also want to share this board with them. There's lots of great tanning advice on here that they can read and it would be a great place for them to ask questions. We do have salon owners on here that give great advice. Also, have you thought about using sunless tanners in the winter if your parents won't let you tan?

That's a really good site Anya, I got some leaflets from a salon I was looking at out of town that had great straight to the point advice... maybe if I find them I can show them to you all.
