O.k. peaople, yes Atkins really does have the answer.
The low-carb regimine has totally worked for me, and I am sticking with it.

I have gone from a 12 to a very loose 10. One more month and I bet I am a size 8, and that's what I want to be...

Me so happy, and I feel so good too. For all you skeptics; I am living proof that Atkins works.

i wish i was skinny i need to lose about 15 to 20 pounds.

That's all I needed to shed too. Regular dieting just wouldn't let me get rid of those last pregnancy pounds, but Atkins did.

Wow, Cool Beans Honey, I'm so glad it's working for ya! I've tried dieting and it just takes soooo long for me to see any results, so I think I'm gonna check out the Atkins diet, Though I do like being a little "Chubby" like I am... Sounds kinda strange, but I was a size 5 and now I'm a 15, and I gotta say, I'm liking the 15 Maybe I'm just that Lazy

I know a lot of people love the Atkins Diet - I've been tempted but it seems like sooo much work to count carbs. maybe I'll have to look into it. I gained about 7 pounds since the summer I would like to lose them before it becomes a steady incline I noticed yesterday my size 6 jeans were hurting and I can't afford all new clothes again, I got rid of all my clothes that were bigger than 7/8 so I wouldn't gain any weight back. If I keep eating I'll be in a Toga for Christmas

Conting carbs is not hard at all. It's easier than counting fat and calorie grams.

Well done, Honey! Now the hard part; keeping that way! Exercise and keeping your calories down are the keys to long-term success!

I'd rather run 10 miles than give up popcorn or beer.

Me to! (minus the beer part!)
I love popcorn!
If I gave up carbs, I would literally have *no* energy!
Speaking of this, we are studying about carbs in chemistry and our teacher told us that if you're on these diets you need to make sure you are still taking in some carbs because you need carbs and they are essential

Honeybee - I'm sure you look great! Keep up the good work

I think that most low-carb diets still involve carbs after the first few weeks....

I know, most do. I'm just saying in general, if you eat like totally no carbs its really not good for you.

Yeah...I still eat carbs, just not the bad kind. Instead of eating about 300+ carbs in a meal. I only eat about that much a week and it come from my veggies and cheeses.
I eat fat all the time...just no refined sugar or flours.

I don't know how many carbs I take in in a day, but I would say its probably around 400! 99% of the foods I eat have carbs in them, now that I think of it!

It doesn't work for everyone, that's for sure. I was on it for about 6 months & GAINED weight! I thought I was doing something wrong so after about 3 months went back to the incudtion phase. still nothing, plus I felt LIKE CRAP! Plus my doctor told me it is not good on your body to process so much protein

what is refined sugar and flour? white flour-white bread-white pasta. whole wheat has more fiber and thus fewer net carbs, since we do not digest fiber.

You had a headache and felt bad because your body was going through withdrawls from sugar. After about 3 days you feel great, and your body starts burning up the stored fat for energy.

My mom is on Atkin's right now, I would love to be able to stick to a diet like that and be able to shed the pounds. I could do the eating meat and cheese but when I go out to eat(which is a lot) I love french fries, Cheddar's smashed potato's and all that good stuff.

Yeah, but nothing that a few beers (or margaritas) won't fix!

Kudos to you, Honey, for taking off the weight!! I am not an Atkins supporter tho...long-term kidney failure (and other health complications) is not something I am willing to 'deal with' to be 'skinny' the hight protein way! I'll stick to healthy eating and exercising!:)

I don't suppose you low carb eaters would be willing to post the diet, or some dieting tips, or some "what to avoid"s on here. Yours truely has packed it on this winter, and would like to unpack it

Just quit eating refined, processed packaged foods. Stay away from refined sugar and anything with high fructose in it.
Eat natural fats like from meat, cheeses, nuts and veggies. Stay away from breads high carbs and transfats.
Drink a lot of water everyday...loke a gallon if you can.

If you do the Atkins' induction approach for about 2 weeks, you will lose at least 7lbs. It will mostly be water, but your clothes will start to fit better.

You should purchase the updated version of the Atkins Diet Revolution book. Read the first 12 chapters completely. The more you know the better success you will have on it. And, I hate it when people call it an extreme protein diet, because really it's not. www.atkinscenter.com
