I was at Walmart the other day and came out to my car to see a huge flyer on my window. It said: Sandy's Airbrush Tanning! located at blah blah blah.
I didn't even know we had a airbrush tanning salon until I got this... and it has me curious. I'd love to try this, but I have a couple questions.
I guess my main question is ..
How dark does the tan turn out?
With the new job i'm about to start i'm going to have trouble juggling my job and tanning. So if airbrushing is the same effect (a deep dark tan), i'd rather start doing that.
Also,
How long does it last?
How often can you get it done?[ This Message was edited by: tantalizingly_tan on 2003-11-28 14:26 ]

When they say "airbrushing" I envision someone spray painting you!

I'm definitely going to try it. Probally tuesday since I don't have to work. After looking up a bunch of airbrush tanning articles I really want to try it... people seem to have awesome results.
Sure, the whole them "spray painting" me thing gets to me a bit... but hey, if its worth it...i'll live.

I actually DO airbrush tanning. It is wonderful, and I have many repeat clients. If the technician is trainer properly, they can adjust the darkness of the tan to whatever you want it to be. The tan lasts from 5-10 days, depending on your skin type (oily skin doesn't hold it as long) and whether or not you use the extending lotion that has a small percentage of the solution in it. Depending on your comfort level standing in front of the technician, people wear anything from a swim suit to nothing. The more you wear, the more tan lines you have. However, even if you are modest and wear a full suit, it still does wonders for giving people a tan for holiday parties, weddings, etc. this time of year! It's a new thing in the town where I work, but it is catching on! And it's a GREAT alternative for those who cannot tan because of cancer, etc. They can still LOOK tan.

Okay, I am almost albino I am so white. Would it be possible to have such a light tan sprayed on that it is like my natural color? Would it give that porcelain look? Could you even go paler instead of tanner?

depending on the solution they use, it should look very natural on you. just make sure to follow their instructions to the tee prior to going in (exfoliate, etc) and don't have it done on a day that it's raining or expecting to rain.

I'm not saying it isn't available somewhere but it would be unheard of in the tanning business. The solution is for airbrush tanning. The main ingredient is to make you darker.

I like the airbrushing over the Mystic...it all depends upon the person and their comfort level in letting someone airbrush them. The salon I work at does the airbrushing and we have numerous people who strictly want the airbrushing. It's natural looking (if the tech knows what they're doing) and like previously stated it lasts for about a week. I get my face airbrushed regularly( I don't seem to tan my face as well in the beds as the rest of my body) and I really like it. At our salon we offer a free demo on the face just to get ppl to try it, that way if they see it's not for them they are not out any $$. For the most part tho, everyone has raved about it and have came back for us to do their entire body. If you're interested in trying it I would highly suggest asking the salon if they offer free trials like we offer...if they see that you're interested I don't see why they would wanna pass on possibly making a 'sale' later if you like it.
