16 bulb home beds

Hi!
I want to buy a bed for home use, no time to go to a salon. Has anyone ever tried the 16 bulb tanning beds that go off of normal house outlet. Do they give good color or are they like using a canopy, ok to maintain but if you are starting out pretty pale very little color?

hi,yes i have a home bed and it takes 16 bulbs,i love it.i have had it for over 10 years and its still going strong,i have replaced the bulbs only once since i have had it.unfortantly i havent laid in it regurly in 10 years or i would be very dark,but i am very happy with mine,i have had no problems with it at all.

I've always been afraid of getting "striped" because most of them have their bulbs spaced further apart compared to 24+ bulb beds but that's just me. If the bulbs are good, you shouldn't get striped at all.

tancharlie- which 16 bulb bed do you have, because i was thinking about getting one myself. How much do they cost??

I have a 14 lamp bed with upgrade lamps. I get great results! no stripes! It's a SunQuest Pro 14 SE.
