What do you consider a "professional" salon? I tanned in the orbit today at a salon I'd only been in one time. Let me tell ya, this place is awesome. It's more expensive, but I think it will be worth it. It's clean, the location is great, and the customer service is excellent. They gave me a brochure filled with info on their beds, lamps, lotions, etc. And they know what a/c is and aren't afraid to use it. I am just really impressed overall with the salon.

Sunbunny,
that sounds like an awesome salon. I'm willing to pay a lil' extre $ if I get great service, good beds with fresh bulbs and a good variety of lotions to choose from. And that A/C comes in to play too, especially when the salon is busy and when it's hot outside. Nobody likes to tan in a 90 to 100 F. Room. And that especially includes me!
Cleanliness, location, excellent customer service and detailed info on their equipment and lotions. Sounds a winner to me, sunbunny

And, they are running a special right now, so I can tan there for the same price I'm paying at my salon. My friend just bought enough packages today to last her about 6 months. They will have another special in Dec. I can't believe I've not been tanning there before now.

I'd much rather pay more for a great salon than pay less for a scummy but cheap one.

I can't say I've ever been hot after leaving the tanning beds, the idea of a/c is def. fresh in the head

The others in town aren't scummy or anything, but I do question how well they maintain the beds. Like lamps being out. Also, I asked one girl about hemp lotions, and she told me all the lotions that contain hemp are HOT lotions. I didn't even say anything. She had marked hot on all the bottles that had hemp.

I always tell them when there are lamps out. Doesn't seem to do any good. I think I'm the only one that says anything about it. It's been two weeks, and 4 of the lamps on one bed are still out. I'm changing salons, so it won't be problem anymore.

good job, i would never allow that.. how could you get even colour??? and if theres 4 that are burn out what does that say about the age of the wrest of the lamps..

I once paid $12 to upgrade to a Level 5 bed.... it has 14 face tanners and when I got in it, 4 of them were out. I let them know just so they could change them at their convenience... but they credited me my $$ back which was very cool of them.

see thats the sign of a good salon, but if u mention it to them and they do nothing like mentioned earlier in this post, i cant see them as a place id want to tan...

my new salon is more expensive but it is worth it just for the feeling that I get when I walk in...like I am going to be pampered or something
