Well I went last night & I really like it! It’s different from anything else I’ve done because it is anaerobic weight training! You get your heart rate up & keep it up the whole time, even when your on the machines! Plus, you change machines/positions every 3 minutes so it is VERY fast paced...no time to get bored! And the ab machines were really good...make that really hard! I could really feel it. I was trying to take it easy the for my first time, but the ab machines made me break a sweat. I love it.
It made me feel so good when I got done, usually I feel worn out & exhausted after I exercise, but Curves gave me energy! I felt so refreshed. I think I’m going to sign up & do it. The lady told me that the registration fee includes your first month so it is not that bad. And they have specials all the time.

Isn't this a place for circuit weight training? I think I saw a commercial for it.

I think so. But it's not like any kind of weight training I've ever done. There are like 8 or 9 machines, they all work on hydraulics instead of weights, so you control how much tension you get with how fast you go. Most weight training is strictly that & it doesn't burn much calories, only builds muscle. I have always done aerobics & weight training separately. BONNIE HELP! I think I have anaerobic & aerobic mixed up. Which is it? But anyways Curves is like a calorie burning workout that uses resistants to built muscle at the same time your losing fat.

Yeah, we've got a Curves right next to the walmart here, so I think I might check it out. So the sessions are really only 30 mins? How long total are ya in there for? Do ya have an idea of sign up membership costs??

yup only 30 minutes 3x a week. plus your stretches, which take maybe 5 minutes. I was in there for 45 minutes my first time, but I had to change out of work clothes too. (my favorite part is still the private dressing rooms Here there is a $75 registration fee, which includes your first month. After that it is $30 a month, if you do the automatic check draft, or $40 I think if you pay by the month. (prices might be different in different areas) I’m going to try to get in on one of their specials. Sometimes they do 1/2 off the membership fee, or buy now get the rest of the year free.

I'm glad you liked it. A woman I work with goes to Curves and she really likes it too!

has she lost weight BrownJen? they tell you you're more likely to lose inches instead of dropping pounds, but hey that's ok w/ me! Bonnie is aerobic where you burn calories & anaerobic where you lift weights? they said the 30 minute workout burns around 500 calories.

If I may ask, how much is it? Good job by the way!

Jaime, aerobic is raising your calorie burning through repetition (including cardio exercises), anaerobic is increasing intensity, like the weight levels. Circuit training where you go from one type of exercise to another with minimal intervals can combine both types pretty well.
