Just got back from my first mystic tan. On my way there I have to admit I was a tad nervous, but as soon as I walked into the Salon and spoke with the woman at the desk I was quite comfortable. She showed me the 2 minute video and off I went. When I got in there I applied the barrier cream to my hands/fingers, feet/toes, back of heels, knees, and elbows. As I recall, the video said nothing about putting barrier cream on the elbows or knees. I hopped in the booth, practiced my stance, and pushed the green button. I forgot to take my breath which kinda sucked b/c I had to take a breath in the middle of the process. I didn't expect the mist to be so light and thin. I was expecting a heavier spray which would get me a little wetter. Anyway, I got out, wiped my hands off, and towled off well. My first impression is that I thought I would be dark right away from the bronzer but it is very very light and barely noticeable. I will let you all know tomorrow how the color turns out. By the way, I did the level 1 darkness and it cost me $9.99 (b/c it was my first time to that salon, normal price is 30 bucks).

it's been a little over 6 hours since my mystic... My skin is a very light golden color except for my arms and face which are much darker b/c they were much tanner than the rest of my body to begin with. The color may be from the bronzer...I certainly thought it would be darker... I will post an update tomorrow morning... I will see what I can do about posting some before and after pics.

Well, this morning I have taken a shower I have reviewed my tan and...

There seems to be some slight streaking but nothing real noticeable or major...

The streaking is the worse by my outter Lats and Chest rigth in around the armpits. It seems as though the Mist did cover that area and didn't get tan. I am not happy bout that.

I'm a light golden color, I still expected to get darker than this on a level one but to be honest, I somewhat expected this. I had tried a "medium" sunless tanner before and this is the color I got. When I used the "very dark" bein de solial, I got a slightly darker color is which more of what I would have liked.

My salon has a thursday special where you can get a mystic for 10 bucks, I think I am going to go in and do a level 2 on thursday and see what happens.

Overall, I would say I'm am pleased with the tan.

Spring for a level 3. Then you'll see some serious change. I am a very fair, don't tan in beds at all -- and relatively petite 5'3", 120 lbs. I do a Mystic level 3 every Thursday and it gives me a great tan through the weekend. By Monday I am fading, but still have color. I have never had any problem with orangy tint despite my fair skin. I even did a level 3 followed by a level 2 24 hours later prior to a wedding I was in. I looked fabulous in the pale pink bridesmaid dress that would ordinarly have made me look like walking dead.

If you really want to go nuts just for fun do what we call stacking. Go in and spray in the morning and go back in and spray 4 hours later. It is unreal what the results are!

man y'all get the spray tans cheap! It's like $45 dollars for your first time here! and then it goes down when you're levals go down. I'm sorry but I won't pay that much for a weeks worth (if that) of tan.

Hmmm...wonder if I'll get orange from a level 3...I will be seeing some friends this weekend whom I haven't seen for over a year, I don't want to look weird! What do yall think?

I would probably just do a level 1 again to even out & get a bit darker.Jmo.Depends on how dark you want to get.I'd talk to the salon. They are most familiar with the results the solution they use gives. But you need to go again to even out.

Thanks SummersTan, I would like to get a bit more even. So, do you think if i go darker my previous streaks would be more obvious or do you think it would help cover them up?

I think it would help cover them up.Talk to the salon, though.I use the airbrush system so a second session would correct any previous unevenness. My issue with the solutions is, it being clear. At least the one we use.It can be hard to tell anything until the second application.I've been lucky & haven't had anyone turn out too bad after the first application although it is a possibility.I make it a point to tell everyone I give info to that it could take 2 applications to be completely even.

Well, I went back in yesterday for my second ever mystic... I decided to take a risk and do a level 2 I'm about to show now and get the bronzer off to see what the tan really looks like... so far I'm liking it MUCH more than the level 1 tan!

we don't have any mystic tan booths around here, plus, I like the relaxation of the bed anyway

bill, i don't know what I'm gonna do when october is over b/c the thursday 10 dollar special will end...30 bucks is too much for a mystic

lol dksxytan, thank you for that bit of information ~

I would love to try the mystic tanning, but if you can believe it, they do not offer it in my area! So, I must use the beds. They want us to age quicker! lol
