how often do you tan?

yes I know it's the poll question, but let's talk about it!

I tan every other day when the schedule allows. If I'm busy, I'll tan 2 days in a row if that's what I have to do...

but I was shocked to see somewhere that some people tan 30 days in a month! How horrible for their skin!

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and sometimes on Sunday....Good lord I cant IMAGINE tanning EVERY day of the month...time not withstanding but the SKIN.....wow!!!

If you are tanning in a salon that changes their lamps regularly, there should be no way you COULD tan every day without seriously damaging your skin. If you feel like you have to tan every day to see color, you may need to change salons.

Usually, I go Monday, Thursday and Saturday. If there is something coming up I will go on Friday too, but usually just for that week to get a little extra color. I see no point in going EVERY day. There is only so dark you can get.

Well, this past week I went friday, sunday, and tuesday..I have an appointment for tomorrow and I can't wait! I love tanning so relaxing! I couldn't imagine going every day, that's dangerous as well as bad for one's skin.. 3-4 times a week tops for me, unless its a busy week..I am still really dark and I haven't gone in a few days.. maybe some of these people have become "tannerexics"??

I go every other day unless I know I'll be too busy to stick to that schedule. Then I will occasionally go 2 days in a row to make up for it, especially because I tend to fade quicker than most.

and then, like twice or three times a week for about 2 weeks...
And then, maintenance is like once a week...in the Diva 7...

Teresa...You and your skin type IV are making me just a little ill with you! Man, I wish I had your skin as I struggle with my 2B to get my tan.

Wait a second...There must be more than one type of skin typing. I think I did the one njchica did but Teresa is yours from the smarttan site? I think they are a little different???

But your dark skin still makes me ill (hee hee).

I tan 3-4 times a week (usually 3) But I fade soo quick! I exfoliate, I go through my Angel really quick, I do everything I should it just doesn't stay! But going to the salon is my way of pampering myself...

I was tanning Tuesday through Friday, but after finding this board and reading up on things im going to go every other day for the next two weeks and then im just going to go on Sat. I seem to do good with my tan and it doesnt seem to fade to bad yet. Love this board thanks all for all the good information.

I am still building my base tan till I reach my plateau and am going M, W, F, and SU...but was thinking of changing to Tu, Thur, FR and SU that way I am dark for the weekends. ( not that I do anything, but we get out more on the weekends) Once I get as dark as I want to be going 3 times a week should maintain it shouldn't it? It has been so long since I tanned ( '97) that I don't remember.

I have been tanning on mondays, wednesdays, and fridays. I've been trying my best to fit in saturdays if time allows since the salon is closed sundays. Once i hit my plateau im going to drop it down to 1 or 2 days a week..... The thing with me is that tanning is so incredibly relaxing, and i have an addictive personality, so i need to be careful that i dont get tanorexic.....

I'm lucky to find myself getting into a bed more then once a week. With school and work I have no extra time to crawl into a bed for a nice 20 minute nap even though it is great. Luckily my skin holds color well and you can't tell that I sometimes slack off and don't go on a regular basis.

I had last week off from lacrosse practice... it was wonderful because I could stop at the salon on my way home from work... then go home, grade papers, clean, and do whatever. I had enough hours in the day! When I coach, we get done around 5 or 6 (if there's a game) and then I just want to go home and pass out...

About 3-4 days a week year-round in the tanning beds; when the weather's good I also lie out which brings it up to 5-6 days a week. Last summer I did something really dumb; I realized in September I had tanned in some way or other every day (including going for runs, rollerblading, etc.) for FOUR MONTHS! I was absolutely beyond dark, but drank tons of water and moisturized so my skin didn't dry out.

The law in texas is you have to wait 24 hours in between tanning. I tan every 2 days then skip aday.
