I know you are supposed to drink lots of water to keep yourself from drying out and hopefully to help you tan (moist skin tans better). How many glasses of water do you drink a day?

I'm not a big soda person... I'd rather just drink water.

I drink a lot of lemon Propel, too... the "fitness" water from Gatorade. love the taste.

I'm on my last can of diet coke, so I went to check out the fridge for water. Only thing in there is tonic water and soda water. If I mix them with something else, does that count as drinking water? Oh, and ummm, I don't know why there's so much tonic and soda water. Must have accidently picked up the wrong bottles. Yea, that's what happened.

I drink the "fitness" water--Propel. I also drink Crystal Light like it's going out of style. I am always talking (and sometimes yelling) so much at work that I need to always be drinking something so I don't get a sore throat.

I ALWAYS seem to have a bottle of water in my hand; I don't have a clue how many I go through in a day. I just know that you have to hydrate constantly; also, I run in the morning from about 7:30-8:30, and then work at the gym all day and then work out myself AND then tan, so I just keep on taking it in. Some company in Canada should pay me a royalty!

64 oz. of water per day. I can easily do that and then some when it's hot weather. Even though my water provider is keen on keeping it 50% clorine (seems like it), 50% water.
I'm hot natured so I'm always guzzling something .
Or one can say 64 oz of fluid a day. I go through maybe a 3 litre jug of Sunny D and a 2 litre carton of OJ a week and that's just for dinner consumption! Reminds me, I'm out of OJ

I drink water like it's going out of style.... I dont think that i could ever drink enough h20, though. I used to not drink it at all, maybe just one little glass a day, but now i try to drink it whenever im thirsty instead of reaching for a soda (which i cant stand to drink) or even juice. I think by really pushing the water instead of other liquids i've lost almost 30 pounds since christmas.

well first of all, I have an incredible bladder. I can usually make it for the 2 hours in a row that I have to teach, go during my lunch, and then last for the last 2 hours that I teach. and if I reeeeeeeeeeeally can't make it, I have a teacher directly across the hall who can keep an eye on them if I need to run out for a sec. I try do do that as little as possible.... it really hasn't been a problem.

I never drink enough water Last summer I was a freakin' pro, lol, I was drinking like 10+ big tall glasses a day, plus all sorts of diet soda because the more you drink the less hungry you are - and drinking the recommended amount of water helps you lose weight, etc., but now I could care less, lol. but I should drink more. definitley.

Water is SO important to your body and your skin; I start work in the mornings and I just replenish my bottle whenever I can, and I sip constantly on it. I'm a total zealot on that, and my skin looks great because of it, not to mention the AMAZING health benefits!

jayell79

soda is a hard one to break free of, but once I did, I will never go back. I used to HATE water, but now I can't stand to drink anything but. now when I take a sip of hubby's pepsi, it tastes like thick syrupy sugar sludge. yuck. If I'm not drinking H20, I drink iced tea (and sometimes OJ) sugar is just plain bad for you, so I really try not to drink it. did you know that sugar is an Anti-nutrient? meaning it takes vitamins (mainly B vitamins) out of you body in order to digest it.

there's a certain amount of water that you're supposed to drink, they say 8 - 8 ounce glasses but my nutritionist says that you take your weight and cut it in half and that's how many ounces of water you should drink a day so I weigh 106 pounds and so half of that would be 53 so I should drink 52 ounces of water everyday. If you drink more than that you could start to retain water and actually gain weight. So that's what I go by!

Just thought I'd let yah's know!!

Ugh, I hate water, but I'm slowly training myself to drink it. I stopped my vanilla coke addiction and went to caffeine free srawberry-peach soda, then I stopped that and went to Kool-Aide. My next step will be to stop Koll-Aide and start drinking flavored water.

hi, well my trainers have always told me you are to drink 8 glasses a day plus for anyone who is over 20 lbs on weight needs to drink a glass for every 20 lbs they are over weight to catch up with the body mass or some mass? but the extra water is important. unfortunatly, since i didnt listen very well i have gained some weight in the last 5-6 years not to much but enough to me anyway that ive got to get it off.

I don't think you can really drink too much water; your body naturally disposes whatever it doesn't need, so you don't "retain" it for that reason.

Water is a wonderful way to keep your skin hydrated and can help keep your weight down.
I usually go to Walmart and buy 2 cases of the Sam's choice Bottled water and I can go through probably 5 bottles of the 20oz bottles a day! I used to hate drinking water too, but if it's nice and chilled, it tastes really good

I've been guzzling pop like crazy, I really need to cut down. I've had like 8 cans a day since Wed
Once school starts back up tomorrow I'm going to try to drink other things, lke Powerade and Lemonade. My mom always has a big gallon of Crystal Light Pink Lemonade in the fridge so I try to drink that too, since its basically water!

I drink a lot of water. I cut out pop from my diet about two years ago and I have noticed a huge difference in how I feel and how my skin looks. I still have the occasional soft drink but I try to stick to water, juice, and iced tea. I went so far as to have a water cooler put in my house so I never have to worry about running out of the bottled stuff.

In a recent Tufts newsletter, Dr Wayne Campbell, PhD, a researcher at Purdue University said the "8 glasses a day" guideline was mistranslated. The fact is that 8 cups of fluid is necessary for water balance, which includes fluids from foods and metabolic reaction

I don't think that is true. My nutritionist once told me that drinking pure H20 is different from drinking anything else, because it is pure your body sees that as instantly usable. Your body 'sucks' the water up & recycles the old stuff that's been in you system. When you drink milk, or eat soup, your body doesn't see this as H20. It is another complex grouping of chemicals and is passed through your body just as food is. Not saying that it gets no use out of it, just that H20 is immediate rehydration.

Sometimes when I get sick of water I drink the flavored seltzer water. It's calorie free, carbonated, and I like the taste of it. I usually buy La Croix but the grocery store brands are pretty good as well.

I also discovered this stuff called Ice Waters. It's not carbonated but still flavored. And it's Vitamin C enriched. I really like it cuz after a while all the carbonation makes me feel bloated.

I think that you should be drinking at least 2 litres/8 glasses of water a day.. I sometimes struggle on doing that 'cos I'm not always thirsty, but lately I have been drinking about that amount. I bought some lemon to slice and add to my water for a bit of refreshfulness, and it helps.

i was always told that you dont need 8-8oz glasses of h20 everyday, but you only need like six or so, because your body gets h20 from food. and it also doesnt have to be strictly h20, i thought it could be anything so long as it's not caffeinated or carbonated or has sugar in it...

Water is the most important nutrient. It carries other nutrients to your cells. If you're getting enough water, your urine should be almost clear.

You can get water from other sources like food and fluids,(lettuce, potatoes, fruit juices, and apples all containe water). Just remember some of those other food sources contain calories and sugar.[ This Message was edited by: BrownJen on 2004-02-04 14:06 ]
