was just wondering if a base tan was needed for somthnig like the magictan. With all this negative talk about tanning beds its kinda a turn off going to the salons now...i mean,i like to be tan,but im happy being white or even pale..as long as this skin last's .Seems that now a days everything causes cancer,i would rather not put myself at risk for it if there is a way around it.The question is, if you have fair skin, and go get that magic tan,do they have like levels of color..can you go in plain white and come out with what looks like a base tan?,or is the color change like way dramatic?.Do you need a tan for it to look real or does it just turn white people orange?.lol look at all the questions!thanks for any replys you all may have they are much appreciated.

You don't need to have a base tan to use a sunless product or the spray booths - As far as what color you will come out really depends on your skin - I know people using the same product and have totally different results - unfortunately orange is a very common result as well as streaking. It takes a lot of practice and experimenting with different products to find the right one for you. I know that a lot of people love the Mystic Tan booths and they do have color levels , the salon should be able to advise you on what level of color is best for your skin type.

We do airbrush tanning at the salon I work at.I'm more comfortable applying it to someone who isn't really light. We recommend 1-3 applications depending on how light you are to begin with because irregularities show up more the lighter you are. Also since it goes on clear & takes 10-12 hours to develop color,You don't know for sure how dark someone will get. Some people are fine with one, others,it takes more.
