I'm using a new product by MISTAWAY BOOTH that collects airbrush tanning overspray. It looks like it sprays you but it actually is a self contained suction device. I was skeptical at first. They are based in Illinois. The price tag was $3200 which I thought was ok but I would need a little convincing before I buy. You know what, it exceeded my every expectation. I didn't feel like forking out that much cash but the guy was a good salesman. I never talked to someone so confident about a product before. Anyway if the FDA does decide to crack down on spray tanning maybe they will leave me alone. This thing is awesome. The customers really like it. Airbrush tanning is a dime a dozen in Chicago. We were one of the first people doing it here. Now we have another advantage. The Mistaway Booth keeps fresh air coming in all the time and filters the overspray. Now, I know what your thinking but I don't spray women my female partner does all that. I have the luxury of spraying the local body builders from the gym, darn. Anyway, I didn't realize how spoiled I was with the mistaway booth. I sprayed my brother at home in my bathroom because he was going to a wedding the next day. Too make a L S short I was getting queezy from spraying in such a small unventilated space. I couldn't believe how much overspray there was to clean up later. My bathroom is white with flat paint. When I removed the towel from the bar the wall behind it was bright white. Unfreaken believable!!! My point....I forgot how horrible it was to have this mess. All the time spent cleaning my floors and walls. Wow what a difference! I sicerely feel like I am the only person offering the best airbrush tanning experience for my people. I am always looking for ways to get people in my doors and the mistaway booth has done that by itself. Once people tan here they don't like to go back to other places using cheap looking fans or air purifiers that don't work (I know because that's what we were told to use $500 down the drain). The only bad part was that I got one of the prototype models (if thats bad). He said that if I waited I would get the manufactured one in 4 weeks. When I asked what was the difference. He told me just cosmetic. Instead of a shower type fixture it looked more like a capsule he told me. I said if it works just as good then I don't care. Anyway I am happy. I ordered it on mistawaybooth.com
If anyone else has one of these things I'd like to know if your getting the same results. Also which model do you have? Is the newer one better than the one I have let me know?

Hey Dom, I just read your post here and on another forum..and am so glad you like the booth. I checked it out, and would love one...but am just opening next week in a salon. SO, have to make some money. But, I think that you are right.....when the FDA gets bad...think this will be okay. Unless, you want to help a "little guy" and buy me one-lol.....I guess I will have to wait. Thanks for the info.

So this is something you purchase in addition to your airbrush system then?

Tan Man, I know that MistAway now has the newer version available. I could not afford one when starting my business. I currently have the overspray booth from Norvell, and it works well since I only spray part-time. MistAway really touts their product, and I may upgrade to it at some point when I get in the black instead of the red. By the way, what brand of solution do you use? I'm testing a few and would like to know of a reliable one that does not turn orange. Some brands offer a Ph balancing spray that is supposed to keep people from turning oranage, but it hasn't worked on everyone so far, especially very pale people.
