HI, i layed outside from 11:15 til 1:55 today and did my front side for half an hour, then my backside for half an hour. Then i did my front for 45 mins and then my backside for 45 mins- AND I DONT SEE ANY RESULTS!!! I dont look any darker!! I used Banana boat oil spray in SPF 8 with the green cap and reapplied it every half hour. A BIG PROBLEM though is that my face seems like it can never tan!!!! It is like the color of paper!! HELP- how can i get my face tan, and what am i doing wrong to see no color after almost three hours?? thanks

Wait until tonight, after your shower, you will see the difference, I am sure that you should

Do you already have a tan? If you don't see any difference after you shower tonight, maybe next time use a lower spf.

This sounds strange, but my face doesn't tan very well in the real sun. However, it will get pretty dark when I use a bed with face tanners. I'm not why, but it's never tanned outside very well.

NO i didnt have a tan!! I was so white!! And actually, i checked under my bathing suit, and i do have tan lines- LOL which actually makes me very happy to know that i did get color!! : ) But MY FACE IS STILL SOOOOO WHITE!! thanks for the bed advice sunbunny, but i cant use beds- my mom wont let me-lol so what should i do to get my face tan?? And also if i want to get darker, do you guys think if i do what i said i did today in my first post that ill keep getting darker?? Or do you think i should skip the rotations and just do all the time i want for one side at a time, and then do all the time i want for hte backside?? I know this is a lot of questions, so thanks so much for your help, and if you can only answer one, please answer HOW CAN I GET MY FACE TAN?? THANKS!!!

Just keep doing what you're doing. You'll get tan. You may just be hard to tan. Just don't get impatient and burn.
Did you use the 8 on your face as well? If there isn't any pink, I would go with a lower spf on it. Just be careful and keep checking it to make sure it isn't turning pink. And try using a lotion on it, instead of an oil. For some reason, that seemed to help me in the past.

ok ill try that- also, instead of getting lower SPF, do you think it would be about the same if i just reapplied my SPF 8 less often- like every hour instead of half hour?? no, theres no pink, but so you know, i did burn when i used baby oil...

Yea, you could try reapplying it less often. You shouldn't have to reapply it every half hour unless you burn very easily and quickly. I would think you'd just need to apply it once, unless you get wet and wash it off.

Yeah, I put SPF on my face only, I apply a very little amount of SPF 30 once, and I stay out for like hour and a half or two hours. It sounds like you need to go with a combination lower SPF and less application. Because changing both those variables at once could get you burned, first try just less application. Apply it evenly everywhere ONE TIME before you lay out. If you still aren't seeing results, go with an SPF 4 or 2. If that still doesn't work, try an oil (or lotion) with no SPF. My face tans very unevenly in the sun - splotchy almost - it's bad business, that's why I use an SPF to combat that, but you may be perfectly fine with a real low SPF on your face. Like sunbunny said, don't rush anything, being burnt SUCKS worse than you can imagine (especially when you're trying to get tan, it's just sets EVERYTHING back) I wish you luck! let us know what happens!

I used Bain De Soleil's Mega Tan SPF 4 a few days ago outside... it has a bronzer (self-tanner) in it and it really boosted my color just during the few hours I was outside. You might want to give that one a shot. I think it was like $8.

^^hmm that sounds interesting is it a realy strong bronzer, like, should it be applied like a self-tanner?

if your that white i wouldnt even recomend laying out in the sun that long!!! i have natural tan anyways and ifi lay out in the sun that much in one day im BLACK! but i usually dont see the results until 2 hours after showering, and some people just cant tan...have u ever been tan before? if your as white as paper, you didnt even burn?????? i would think ud burn even using spf 8 and being out in the sun that long

You must realy be a hard tanner. I'm the same way. Try Hawaiian Tropic red label, while your out there spray water on you at the same time. But caution..Sometimes this will make you red!!! You also may be using a spf to high. Good luck!! you can always try one with a bronzer in it.
