HOW TO GET A BASE TAN?? PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!

I wanted to use dark tanning oils/lotions but people keep telling me that fair skinned people need a base tan first. How do i get a base tan??? PLEASE HELP ME!!

Are you starting tanning indoors? If so, my advice would be to start in a regular bed for about 5 mins at 2 or 3 sessions per week for the first week or 2, as long as you're not burning, and increase your time by 2-3 mins every week or 2, as long as you're not burning, untill you reach the max on your bed. You should use a good base lotion, and that'll depend on which brand you like, and you should always remember to MOISTURIZE, a good tan and well moisturized skin go hand in hand
Good Base Lotions= Fiesta sun Sol plus or Bronze plus, Synergy Brown Envy, and there are ohters, and I'm sure you'll get lots of help and other suggestions too from everyone, these are just my opinions and suggestions. Just remember, don't rush to tan, be careful, moisturize, and Enjoy!

No, i want to tan outside. Any instructions for getting a base tan outside?? And im not allowed to use beds, just so you know to do it.

Use an spf and start slow. How long can you stay out now without burning? The sun is strongest from around 10 - 2. So if you're out during this time frame, watch you're skin closely for burning. Do not stay out until you're pink.

Be sure to moisturize a lot with a moisturizer made for tanners. Moisturized skin will tan faster an stay tan longer than dry skin.

Well i usually dont burn, im a skin type 3a. I burned when i tried baby oil though so now im resorting to tanning oils/lotions. Do you think it would be good to use an SPF 8 product?? Specifically its called banana boat tan express spray lotion. thanks!
