i'm thinking about trying mystic tan but i'm hearing different things from everyone. i hear it streaks from some and it never does from others. i'm hearing the color is fake or doesn't even work from some people and i'm hearing its excellant from others. i also heard you towel dry as if you just got out of the shower from some then others say you have to pat it dry. i don't wanna screw myself up. will this work on anyone with any skin type?

It really seems to just depend. People get mixed results like you said, some people love it others hate it. It's hard to tell if you skin will positively react to it until you try it.

joyce - whats your skin type? if you are a fair 1-2: there are 3 levels you get to choose from depending on how dark your tan is. I would choose level 1 or 2 if youre fair skinned..if you are 3+ then i would try any level. those that you heard that streaked, it wasnt the tanning machine, it was their fault. make sure you listen to the instructions and try to follow them just as well. Put barier creme (shuold be provided)on your palms and nails as well as feet nails. Take a few wet ones with you to wipe off your palms and nails afterwards, just to make sure. Pat dry once you get out, do not towel off. just pat off the excess soultion. hope this helps and good luck .

They have an instructional video for you to watch step by step what you have to do. I agree with Forever Tan, the streaking is most likely caused by improper toweling off when your done.

I'd agree, watch the video, and be careful with toweling off. Since it's a Sunless Tanning system, I'd do it like I used to do my ST lotion at home, I wouldn't touch myself for a few minutes after I was sprayed, or do you have a time limit with these things??
We don't have anything like that around my way, so I'm not sure

I know with the MagicTan you don't have to be afraid to towel off the excess (I don't mean rub hard, just gently moving the towel up and down is fine) I do just pat dry my face and neck. I know I did the Mytic and got a streak down my leg, but this happened before I evened towelled it off (it washed off the next day). All I can say is, try not to worry so much. You'll probably do a few things wrong on the first try, but then you'll know for the next time -- and it doesn't last forever

I have seen a lot of people use it at the salon I go to. I haven't seen any results on others that would make me not want to try. Except for the color being darker on the dryer areas of the hands and feet. I suppose that could be avoided though.

Yea, they have mystic tan at one of the salons I tan at. I'm very, very tempted to try it out and see what it's like.

You WILL streak if you do not towel off properly. If you pat your skin dry in a "gingerly" fashion (couldn't find a better word), you will streak. When you step out of the booth, dry yourself off just like you do when you get out of a shower, fairly briskly.
I like the Mystic Tan, I've done it 3 times, have one more to do that is already paid for. But it cannot compete with the relaxation and addiction of a bed!

If I didn't screw it up, YOU certainly will not! Believe me, I am the queen of goof-ups!

I've been toying with this for the last two months and just can't bring myself to do it; it sounds too good to be true! I LOVE the super dark tan I have from the beds and natural sun and I just can't imagine the spray-on would look as good. But others love it! I'll probably debate this for a while more!

The women at my salon say if you do no towel off correctly you will streak. They too say you need to pat yourself dry and not just rub yourself dry. I have heard some say they love it and others say they will stick just going in the beds. Im sure its just a personal preference. You should at least try it. You may like it.
