Tanning @ my gym

I just got a gym membership at this brand new gym in the area...it's SO awesome, like inside it's gorgeous, and wow!! It doesn't even COMPARE to the one I used to goto. Inside the changeroom they have stand up beds...I have never used a stand-up before, and I'm kind of overwhelmed by the price!!
For 2 minutes of tanning it's $2...and every $2 you pay you get 2 more minutes!! So for 10 minutes in a stand-up it would cost $10!!! Is it just me, or is that a ridiculous rate?!

Are they upgrade booths?

at my salon the stand up bed goes for 12 dollars for non members (for 10 mins) just so u get some kind of comparison in price members pay 6 dollars for the stand up.

Hmmm...Not sure by what you mean by the term "upgrade" (I'm not good with the tanning terms *hehe*) but I've heard they're very, very powerful and tan you REALLY fast! So from what I'm hearing that price is pretty normal! *wow!* I'll have to check it out...

with the booth u might want to do a lay down bed too cus with the stand up's most of them dont reach your feet so your legs are nice and dark and your feet stay white or get no color at all. after using the booth for a week i noticed my feet totally fading (and i walk around barefoot often so it's noticable)

At my salon you just get an amount of points and eac bed is so many points each minute, so I do not pay a set rate for the stand up, but that sounds a bit pricey, I mean I guess most gymm and "dollar" tanning beds are that rate though, but I bet yuo could find a salon that as a cheaper rate for the stand up.

WOW!!! I just can't get over the cost yall pay for your booths and beds! My old salon has a standup and 4 beds, and you can get Unlimited tans in booth for $40 a month, 10 tans for both for $25, or..... well, I don't remeber the other prices, these 2 are the only plans I use! I just can get over how much more yall pay, I couldn't afford to tan at those prices

That is a lot!!! In My salon I pay 45.50 for 10 visits And That includes the 10 minute stand ups, the 20 minute beds and for $1 extra a visit U can use the DR Mueller bed and for $1.50 extra u can tan in the Facial tanning bed with Bronzing bulbs. ANd for my area that is expensive but this salon has the nicest and CLEANEST beds and booths and to me that's VERY important. Not to mention they have better beds and booths.

There is one place out here that is $25 for 10 tans in a 12 minute VHR booth but they only have one and it goes ALL day long it's so hot that it's just not worth going there.

I pay $22 / month and thats for all darque tan locations (around 30 in the houston area and other places in the country) and i get free bed upgrades and unlimited tanning.. no strings attached!!

$27 Dollars for unlimited tanning in two stand-ups and two lay-downs. Nothing is high pressure, but the stand-ups are SunDomes, and I love them. Fortunately they tan my feet too! I usually just wear these huge flip-flops inside the stand-up, and then stand on the whole shoe (not putting my feet in the straps or anything) and then my feet always get tan!

At one salon I go to occasionally, it's $1.00 per minute.

The gym where I work has two regular beds that I could use for free if I want, but I go to this great place that has about 10 different types of beds and booths (state of the art) and I have a yearly package that comes out of my checking account each month. It's kind of pricey but I have unlimited use of everything.

I used to tan at a salon that charged 25 for anything they had including a Dr. M bed and a 10 minute Sundome. It was a dirty salon though, same debris on the floor of the stnad up the whole month I went. I stood on a towel and when my month was up I quit going.
