It seems as though lately I am not getting any darker. I use lotions with bronzers and have gotten new lamps for my bed. I moisturize everyday. I have tried tons of different lotions. Is there a lotion for people like me who seem to have a hard time tanning?

Also, do you use the same bed? Maybe upgrade and see if that helps.

Any bronzer with DHA will stay on. Smoke Black is a good DHA bronzer.

Chica is a bronzer expert; she can help you with a comprehensive list.

It will get you very dark!!!!!! Also, tanning everyday is tooooo much. Try cutting down on your time. Try every other day. Make sure to drink plenty of water too.

Do a search on bronzers to see what others have posted about the various bronzers.

you probably should cut down on tanning then skip a few days in between. it takes at least 24 hrs for a tan to actually develop so going more isn't making much of a difference and u will help your skin out more by tanning less.

I don't think you've hit your plat. Follow those suggestions and they should work.

Beth, I agree with everyone..... you need to take a few days off to let your skin rejuvenate and repair itself. Bronzers are a good way to darken your tan but you can't rush nature. Be good to your skin and it will give you a good tan.

What lotions are you currently using? Let's find you a good lotion to use when you tan..... which will be less often.

Smoke Black will probably be your best bet. Just make sure you rub it in good. It's white so it's very decieving.

Bronzers just help you cheat a little and look a bit darker than you are!

Right now the lotions I have: SHO Absolute Ice, Hempz Hot, and I also have been using Jergens lotion, but after hearing everybody talk about how those lotions aren't that great I bought some Fiesta Sun; Fully loaded. I recently bought some Cherry Bon Bon. I will be trying it soon and will let everybody know how it is working. Somebody was also telling me about tanning supplements, do they work good?

Cherry Bon Bon is a great bronzer. It's very dark and will stain your hands if you are not careful. Make sure to take a wipe and get all of it off your hands and in between your fingers.

It also has a strong tingle. Make sure you have worked your way up through other tingles that are not as strong.

When getting into bronzers, it's important that you start off with a "lighter" one that is close to your skin tone.... using a really strong DHA bronzer too soon can make any kind of streaking or staining very obvious.

Sun Tea is a nice light bronzer for those who want to try bronzers. Spiked Butter is another....

I think Worship is great to start out with.

How can somebody tell if they have hit their tan plateau or not? It seems like it would be kind of hard to tell for sure if no darker color is being achieved. What is the best way to determine if the plateau has been hit? Is there any common rule of thumb?

i would try exfoliating.....sometimes bronzers cake up on the skin, at least i have found that. i would exfoliate and tan for a couple sessions with a straight intensifier/accelerator

And, maybe she's just reached her natural limit. Not everyone gets very dark :) No lotion unless it's a very strong DHA bronzer will change that.
