what is the difference between regualr tanning beds and brozing beds? are bronzing beds better? i pay $5 for each session for a regular bed and got a quote yesterday from another salon that has brozing beds and they want $7 each session. i have a base tan should i stay with the regualr bed or try the brozing bed? what do you think?

There is a great deal of different bed manufacturers...and then there are all the different models of tanning beds/booths...

Its impossible to completely answer your question, but....

The rule of thumb is a more expensive session times equals more quality in the bed/booth

You should slowly increase the intensity of bed you are using. IE-more bulbs, stronger watts!

I asked this question to my salon owner and was told its not the bed, its the lamp and ballasts. I went into the Ergoline 600 in my town and get better color from the base beds in the salon I go to. Thats why I travel to use the better beds.

At my salon, the "bronzing beds" do not give off any burning(UVB) rays, only bronzing rays.... they recommend these beds for clients who do not have a base tan, or are prone to burn. but if you have a good base tan, a bronzing bed won't do you much good. this is what the "bronzing beds" at my salon are, Im not sure if they are the same at yours.

My salon uses the "bronzing beds" and I feel like I can't get any darker. I used to go to a different salon and I feel like I was more brown than I am now. I seem to have more of a golden tan now.

OMG my whole message just disappeared. argh!

bronzing/browning beds are great when you have hit a plateau and are trying to break through it... I usually use base beds and no one can accuse me of being pale.
