The tanning salon I goto only gives me 3 minutes beforehand to change, do my lotion, etc. I would think I need at least 4 or 5. So I always tell the girl working (who is usually the manager whenever I go) to give me a couple minutes before she starts the bed...and she says ok! But then literally 20 sec. later she starts the 3 minute countdown on it!!!
LIke, she is really super nice, and I always talk to her after my tan, so I feel bad telling her to give me even more time...but the bed starts going when I'm still putting my lotion on, and it peees me off so much! I've even started putting on my lotion BEFORE going to the salon (at home) just so I don't have to do it in a hurry!

HELP!

yeah that would make me mad too!! The salon I go to gives us 5 minutes and that's JUST enough time for me sometimes I havea minute left over but rarely!!! And when I go into the standup booths we start it ourselves so there is no time limit to get ready...They just control how manyminutes U actually use IN the booth. I'm sure some other people that go to UR salon share the same frustration!

Yeah, my salon gives us 3 minutes, BUT, We start the bed ourselves, and she's so cool, she told me when I first started, not to start the bed untill I got all my lotion on, so I wouldn't lose any time I just love my salon and owner, she is TOTALLY SWEET!!
At my other salon, I had your same prob, only 3 mins, I took 4 - 5, so I lost 1 - 2 mins every session, and that really sucks when you're paying good $$$$ for tanning!!!!

I'm really good friends with the workers at my salon too, so I always yell (not really, just enough so they can hear me) when I'm ready. Its really cool. I can take as much time as I want!

I love it when you can start the bed yourself. My salon gives 3 minutes on some of the beds. Usually, I have time left over. It's nice to be able to start the bed when your ready and not have to wait for the bed to start itself.

I don't understand why all salons don't just let you start it! Okay, well that's not true, I do, lol. I understand that they don't want customers taking major advantage, and taking like 20 minutes to get ready before getting in the bed, but I don't think it would be a widely spread problem (if it was at all)! I think having the control to start and stop the bed when you want puts you at ease. Just IMO.

The salon I go to gives 5, and the other salons I have used lately dont even have timers, you just start the bed whenever you are ready.

ours gives five minutes. i always have to haul to make it in time too. but it does make the turnover quicker b/c believe me there are plenty of people who would stay in there forever if they could haha. this makes sure that minimal waiting occurs.

3 minutes really is pushing it. you have got to move like lightning. i hate to say it but you may have to just lotion up beforehand. in her defense since you said you liked her, she probably didn't realize it was so soon. a minute there can seem like an hour also, i have done that for people and then i just forget to set it which made them mad if you can believe it. if they use a computer too, it's kinda hard to leave someone's account up or remember people(s) names when others are coming in alot. you should talk to the owner and tell them to get with the times and give at least five minutes. then you don't have to go out of your way anymore...

My salon gives you an unlimited amount of time to put on lotion. all of the beds at my salon are ones that you start by yourself, you can also control stopping it, fans, and how dim or bright that the face tanners are. I could not imagine only having 3 min. to out lotion on! I take up to 7 sometimes, I think pretty much they give everyone 10 min, and I have never known of anyone who took longer. I would suggest all places to let the customers start their own bed, I sure love being able to.

My salon gives 10 minutes, but you can start the bed yourself if you're ready before that. Another salon I used to go to gave 5 minutes and it takes me about 6 minutes to get ready. I quit going to that salon for that reason. I wonder if salons realize they lose customers over this. I can't imagine having only three minutes - I'd never make it in time.

I think my salon is 4 min. before and 4 min. after.

My back is slowing me down. I guess I could do that at home. Think it would be ok since I have a 15 min drive to the salon??

my salon does not start our beds automatically, so we can have as much time as we want... which is why i love my salon so much.. but during busy season they may come by ur room and ask if everythings ok if ur taking a long time and they have a big wait list..

Mine has the three minute rule too. That is the only problem I have with it. It takes me about 5 min so I loose a couple of minutes tanning time. It Sucks!!

My salon also has a 3 min. prep., but I always tell her to give me 2 minutes before she sets the clock. I'm sure if you just told them to give you an extra couple of minutes before they set the bed it wouldn't be a problem.

I HATE the 3 min prep time!!! Being a "full figured" gal, I have a lot of skin to slather up! All kidding aside! I just don't think 3 minutes is enough and in the winter time with the extra clothes to take off it will be worse!

my salon gives us 4 or 5 depending on whos working. I've got lotioning up down to an art now though. I can get all lathered up in about 2 minutes! It's a crazy lotioning mad dash! Lotion flies left and right, i gotta duck outta the way to avoid the mad splashies, but I get it done darnit! I aint missin a minute of tanning!

I get 7 minutes which is just about right for me. I can't imagine doing it in 3 minutes.

Mine gives me 5 minutes, but I swear they start it early. Anyways, I really don't care, because it's busy season, and there's people waiting. I usually get in the bed with about 10 sec. to go before it starts, so I have my routine perfectly timed now. Hey, it keeps me in shape, giving me all that exercise.

I have never been to a salon that doesnt let you start your own bed. Where ever I go they just tell me what room is open and I go back there and lotion up about half way then turn the bed on so its nice and warm then finish the lotion stuff and reset it for however much time I need. Maybe its because I live out in the sticks and no one out here sells by the minute.

Mine gives 5 mintues in both the stand ups and the laydowns.. I find that it is enough time in the stand ups, but not quite enough when i do lay-downs.. i kind of dawdle around and take my time when before i tan in a laydown, i think because i have MUCH more room in there lol.

my salon gives you four minutes before the bed starts...since i usually tan in between classes, i dont wanna go back to class feeling yucky, so on those days i wont use any lotion...so i usually have plenty of time. if i am using lotion, i have JUST enough time to get undressed, put on lotion, and lay down..

we have a 4 minutes before we get in. if you take longer than that 4 min you just push a button and you get another min or 2.

My salon sets the bed for a 10 min delay then it turns itself on (I think) I only use about 4 min then I start it myself.. but I always wear easy off clothes/shoes, no makeup, and no jewelry.

3 minutes is not very much time. I fly thru my lotioning to get in the bed by 4 min.
