How is this bed? There's a salon near me that has it, but I don't want to pay the high price for it without knowing what kind of bed it is and what the results are.

Dchan,
I used the bed at my salon once. Its a very good bed!
It's expensive though and I wouldn't recommend using that unless you have a good base tan first!
If I were rolling in cash, and if I had a good base tan, I would use that bed. No doubt about it.

What type of bed is this? Number of bulbs? Strength?
I"m going to a salon that has this next week and I want to know what to use.

the bed is a great looking bed but if you have an orbit close by might be cheaper and will give you same or better results

The Ergoline 600 is a 'mega bed'. It's not the MOST mega of the lot but it's right up there with them
Bulbs / lights: 4 HP facial's, 50 VH0-RUVA bulbs, 5 shoulder bulbs.
It's a very roomy bed and if you have the fundage, give it a try.
Strength: high to very high.
AFAIK, there is no 'orbit' mega bed in my town so for now, the Ergoline 600 is the king of the hill for me

OK, just got back from laying in this bed and MAN, is it HUGE! You could park a truck in this thing, LOL. The facial bulbs were REALLY hot, but having fans at both ends was really nice. I think I got good color from it, but it's hard to tell as I JUST got out of it.

I just tanned in one of these beds yesterday for the first time, too.I think my face got some color but I don't know about the rest of me-nothing noticable but then I'm at my plateau.I had a coupon for $15. for a tan.Regular price is $25.It is a beautiful bed!

Yeah, that's the price at the salon I use, but here, if you buy a package of visits to the medium beds, you can upgrade to the Ergoline 600 for only $6, so you can basically buy a package and upgrade and lay in it for $11 a visit.

I goofed! It was a 650 I tanned in.I worked at At&t for 7 years & am now brain dead when it comes to #'s.The 600 is just as nice as the 650,really.Did you tan in an Avantgarde or a Classic? What's the max time you can go.It was a 12 minute bed I was in.

The one at my salon is the 600 classic and it has a 16 minute maximum. And yes, the HP facials get bloody hot but I imagine they give great colour

I think it was a classic, it was red and had what looked like a disco ball going inside of the lid. I laid in it for 12 minutes. I asked to be put in there the full time, and that's what they put me in there for, don't know if that's the "true" full time or not though.

Dchan, I would think that they did put you in for the full time. I used a 600 the other day that was a 12 min. max. I didn't know that there was a 16 min max version. I thought it only came in 12 or 15?? And tr0nado, you are right, the facials are like walking on the surface of the sun! Too darn hot!

yep have you tried the one where it looks like facials going all the way down your body? Man that night I dreamed my chest was burning it was so hot. I really liked it though. And the fans are so good you don't really get sweaty hot. I also like the lamps for your shouldiers. that was cool, first time I'd ever seen those. At the salon I go to they are 12 min beds.

what is streaking in this thread mean? iam new and learning the slang i guess it is? thanks

Yeah, I'm a bit perplexed too, about the streaking part. Anyhow, the salon in my town has a 15 minute max on that bed. I guess its personal preference of the salon to set the maximum time. But I read on the Ergoline website that it's time can be either 12 or 15 minutes. Also the older Ergoline classic 600 has the disco ball light and the newer version has a blacklight, as well as a slightly wider bottom acrylic.

Beds with High pressure bulbs throughout the canopy are considered High pressure beds...
They give off more UVA than the VHR's and standard beds...

Switch lotions around and if you've been going too often, give your skin a break. Others say exfoliate, so try that too
It could be that you're getting tanorexic.
If you're real serious (and curious), ask the salon owner when was the last time has the salon's Ergoline 600 been relamped?
