I am sooo mad...My tanning salon owner is on vacation and she has someone else watching the store. I went by there yesterday at my normal time (around 5pm after I get off of work) and the gates were down. So I just called to ask them if they were going to be open at around 5 today, she said no b/c it didn't make any sense to stay open if she didn't have any appointments...Um hello!! What about the people that have to work for a living?? I simply cannot take of work to go tanning!!!

5 pm! That's not even remotely a sane time to close. She will be fired.

most salons close later at night around 730-8ish, some even 9. Thats bad!

And she is not sure if shes opening on Saturday, what kind of crap is that. I will probably have to wait till monday (they dont open on sundays either). I will go pale, "death to all lazy substitue tan employees"!!!!

we have to salons and they both open at 8am and the larger one closes at 10pm and the smaller one closes at 9pm. but that still gives a person enough time to get to our other salon to tan.

My salon closes at 9pm. I would defnitely complain to the owner that the employee watching the salon closed early so you couldn't tan. I'm sure other tanners at your salon had the same problem that you did.

My salon closes at 7:00, but is open 7 days. there is another salon nearby that stays open till 10:00pm if I want to tan later. Closing at 5pm is asking for it. And not open on Saturday... way lame!!!!

Mine opens at 5am and closes at 10pm. But only cause its in a huge gym thats mainly why I got it there cause of the open hours they offer so I dont have to rearrange my life and work schedule to just go tanning.

Yay my salon has reopened, I will go today and use the strongest bed to make up for lost time. I have faded, but others say that my tan still looks great. Off to the bed I go.

Not a very good business move- you should move salons just for that reason and make sure you explain to the owner the reason for your switch.

I hate the weekend hours. Most of the ones around here have very short weekend hours, like 10-4 on Saturday and 12-4 on Sunday, hours like that. Really sux.

My new salon is open on Sundays, and my old one wasn't. Speaking of Sunday, I should be going tanning, but ugh, I'm too tired to even drive there!

I just changed salons. The one I previously visited was only open from 10 to 5 Monday through Friday & from 10-1 on Saturdays. . .any wonder that I quit going for awhile? And then when I finally decided I could start back I learned they had closed down! But it's all for the better as I'm now at a place that stays open until at least 7 during the week & 6 on Saturdays. . .woo hoo!

Ryde,

Open 24 hours??? I can't understand why that would be necessary, they must be losing money.

Yes, I do understand where many of you are coming from. But those of you who have working in salons know that around this time of year things start slowing down, and it really is not worth it financially to be open these crazy hours. At this time of year, we are open 10-9 on weekdays, and 11-6 on weekends. Sometimes we'll close an hour early if it's super slow.

But as for a 24 hour salon, I think this is ridiculous. Come on, who seriously needs to tan at 4am? Give me a break!!

lol...yeah, I can understand IHOP being open 24 hours, but whoa...i'd fall asleep in the bed if I went too early in the morning.
