Ok, I'm in the market for a lotion with no tingle factor or bronzers. I have been tanning for about 2 months now and have gotten dark, but I'm not getting any darker. I went to the salon I tan at, but when I asked the ladies at the counter about recommending me a lotion (because I haven't tanned with one yet this year and my skin is getting really dry) they basically laughed at me, I guess because I'm a guy, so I left. After doing a search, I found this place so I hope I can get some help I used Titanium a couple of years ago, but didn't like the tingle. I have also used some Caltan products, so I was thinking about X Power. Also, can you recommend me a good moisturizer that doesn't smell too "girly"? Thanks

I have used X power and it's great. It really takes care of your skin; very moisturizing. Also, it has a very neutral smell that is awesome. You don't have to worry about after-tan smell.

Dchan, r u looking for a moisturizer?

Yeah colorgod, I'm kinda looking for both a Browning lotion and a moisturizer. I'm leaning towards X Power, esp. after reading the comments on it here, so is it good to use a moisturizer from the same company, like Total Immersion? I read on caltan's site that it has some of the same compounds in it that X Power does, like the copper compounds, so would it benefit me to use them together or is there a better moisturizer from a different company?

another browning lotion i like is the ganja... and for a guy with lots of body hair it's a gel so it's easier to rub in

i pretty much use all cal tan products so i can't compare if using them all together makes a difference but i do know that cal tan does put alot of research into their products so u start building color as soon as possible, my skin feels wonderful and i have gotten so dark.

anya1976, does caltan make any other gel based lotions? I didn't even think about there being gel based ones. I do have a moderate amount of body hair and I find myself using a lot of lotion because it's so hard to rub in. I didn't even think about that and am glad you mentioned it...makes me think twice about spending that much money on X Power O_o

the only other gel based lotion i can think of is maxigel (don't know if they still make that) and toasted honey but that has glitter in it

I've never had any problems rubbing lotion in, especially X power. I didn't care for Ganja. They discontinued Max Gel. They do still have the Rage Gel, which I've never used or heard about.

Anya, maybe Ambrosia DD?

If you haven't had any problems with X power, colorgod, then I'll probably go with that one. Maybe the lotions I've used in the past have just been too thick

x power is a thick lotion as well

Anya, it's not overly thick though. It's very moisturizing because it's thick. Being thick does not equal being hard to rub in.

I have had lotions that were hard to rub in!

you do NOT have to use a tanning lotion and moisturizer from the same line... use what you like and if it's from 2 different lines, then so be it.

I've never used X-Power so I can't comment on it... but there are other lotions that work very well that do not cost as much $$.... Green Tea and Swedish Hemp Creme are 2 good choices for moisturization and skin care.

for a moisturizer i personally just like just regular Cocoa Butter. it is very moisturizing, keeps my color very nicely, and doesnt have a "frilly" girly smell.

I think X-power is one of the best lotions. You really can't go wrong with it.

Ok, just got back from tanning and bought some lotions to try. I bought X Power and Swedish Hemp Creme from the suggestions here. I tried the Swedish Hemp creme first and I loved it. I got really fast color and zero after-tan smell, can't wait to try X Power on my next visit. For body wash I got Total Submersion. I wanted to get Total Immersion, but for some reason they didn't have it, so I got some Lotion by Body Drench which they told me was pretty good and it didn't smell girly, so I will use this until it's out, then get total immersion, unless people on here have had bad experiences with Body Drench.
