personal preference is the difference between laydown beds and standups... the best time to tan is whenever there is no wait!
have you spoken to the people at your salon about your goals? are you using a good tanning lotion? do you moisturize your skin regularly after showering and throughout the day?

When you stand you wont get the white marks under your arms and other various pressure points that you can get with the laying beds. I like the lay down beds though so I can take a nap.

if u flip over will that get rid of the pressure spots? i mean i use the mega beds but not the standups because at this point in my tanning it would cost way to much to go for the amount of time i would go for in the standup, and the mega is the same strength as the standup just cheaper,so why not...

i also flip over to avoid unevenness.

I flip as well. Also, I try to relieve pressure off of pressure points by raising my arms and moving around.

Miz_Risa,
As others have said, tell them your goals but between now and your prom night, you have plenty of time to get dark . Just take it slow and easy and don't overexpose yourself. Start at 3 or 4 minutes and work your way up gradually. Allow at least 24, and preferbly 48 hours between tanning sessions.
You will get there sooner than you'll realise.

Miz_Risa,
Tr0nado offered some great advice. Use a bronzer to deepen your color if you would like
