What Do Tanning Salons Really Sell?
-------------------------------------
Beauty! We are in the business of helping customers become more beautiful by developing a tan. Tanners tan to look better!

Why Do Tanning Salons Sell Tanning Products?
-------------------------------------------
Tanners get better results from their tanning sessions when they use tanning products!

Why Better Results from Using Tanning Products?
------------------------------------------
Three key factors: Magnification, Moisturization and Skin Conditioning.

Must you use a Tanning Product to get Tan from a Tanning Bed?
----------------------------------------
No, but the beneficial effects of Magnification, Moisturization and Skin Conditioning are easily understood by everyone.

Why Do We Not Sell More Tanning Products?
------------------------------------------
Because most tanners do not understand indoor tanning products!

Why Tanning Products Work!

MAGNIFICATION:
Magnification is simply the multiplying of the ultraviolet light reaching your skin. Our premium products provide a refractive prism of aloe Vera gel and natural oils such as hemp seed oil, sunflower oil, and aromatherapy essential oils to intensify the ultraviolet light reaching your skin intensifying the time you are SOAKIN' UP THE RAYS (R) . Tanners not using a tanning product will not get the extra magnification thus are getting less results from the same time SOAKIN' UP THE RAYS ®.

MOISTURIZATION:
Healthy skin is the foundation of your dark tanning success. Tanning products are designed to provide critical remoisturization to skin before and after tanning. The healthier your skin, the longer you have to tan that same skin and the darker your tan can get from SOAKIN' UP THE RAYS ®. Dry skin flakes and sheds peeling away your tan layer by layer. Our premium products provide your skin with the deep and constant moisture it needs during the tanning process with aloe Vera, natural oils, minerals, natural botanical extracts, anti-oxidants, as well as other important vitamins and ingredients to help you extend your hard earned tan from SOAKIN' UP THE RAYS ®. Tanners not using a tanning product will not get the extra Moisturization thus getting less results from their time SOAKIN' UP THE RAYS ® because of dry skin caused by tanning.

SKIN CONDITIONING:
Soakin' Up The Rays (R) tanning products are formulated to provide your skin with additional levels of key tanning ingredients to assist the tanning process. Skin conditioning ingredient include Natural Butters, L-Tyrosine, Liposomial Tyrosine Complexes, Essential Oils, Vitamins, Natural Botanical Extracts, Riboflavin, Hemp Seed Oil, Copper, Other Minerals, as well as other critical ingredients designed to increase the effectiveness of your time SOAKIN' UP THE RAYS ®. Skin conditioning ingredients are often the same ingredients that assist in moisturization and magnification aspects of indoor tanning products but benefit your tanning time in a variety of ways.

So just becuase I choose to say my "Soakin' Up The Rays ®" brand name instead of "tanning time" it's a commercial???

Don't worry about it Greg...I'll be calling the salon you gave me the info on to see if I can try them out.

I am just glad at least one lotion company owner is posting here and providing us information that we NEED. I haven't heard anything else from any other lotion company and I am happy someone is showing an interest in us tanners and broke down this barrier finally.

And Greta...Greg's lotions are very reasonably priced. Maybe you should reconsider.

Greta

I never said I would not try his lotions, geez, all I said was that it did not answer my magnification questions because I did not want to read a commercial.

come on Greta, now you know that it has his company's name just go ahead and read it.

Greg, so what do you think of the whole concept of "layering"? I've heard that layering a lotion over a gel will actually INCREASE tanning results. I'm hesitant to try it though...

colorgod
05-12-2003, 07:12 PM
I need to find a good gel. I don't use any right now. Chica, look at Ambrosia it's a combination gel/lotion.

njchica
05-12-2003, 07:15 PM
what about Ambrosia? I've tried both it and Ambrosia Dark Deluxe and I hate both of them.

Greta
05-12-2003, 07:18 PM
I 'm glad I stumbled back in this post, cause I had the layering thing backwards, I thought lotion THEN gel......

colorgod
05-12-2003, 07:20 PM
Does it matter? I don't know if it does. If it does, I need to know.

colorgod
05-12-2003, 07:22 PM
Chica, I was saying that it's ok to layer since CT made a combination like that: gel/lotion. I know you hate the Ambrosias.

Greta
05-12-2003, 07:23 PM
I dunno, CHICA!!!!! she will be here, she follows me around to see what kind of mischief I'm up to now lol (just teasing)

njchica
05-12-2003, 07:37 PM
gotcha colorgod....

Greta
05-12-2003, 07:38 PM
which order though? or does it matter?

Soakinuptherays
05-12-2003, 08:57 PM
OK, if you are going to layer, put a great moisturizing lotion on first and let that absorb into the skin for maximum moisturization and skin conditioning.

then

I would layer on a true oil not a gel. Gels are trying to the skin and are going to take thzat moisture you just applied away, while an oil does not!

Both gels and oils will increase the magnification!

PS make sure your salon allows true oils before you do this and stick with a sunflower oil, safron oil, or other vegtiable oil not minerial oil based product!

Greta

I can see how that would work, but it sounds like it would be smothering kinda, does this cause any type of breakout problem? like blackheads or anything? what if you want to use a bronzer? wouldn't it streak?

Soakinuptherays
05-13-2003, 12:36 PM
Oil vs. Gel depends on your skin.

If you use the right shade of bronzer matching your skin tone then streaking will not be an issue.

Greta
05-13-2003, 12:38 PM
I'm gonna take that as "yes" and "yes", unless you can go into more depth with it.....

njchica
05-13-2003, 01:45 PM
Greta, the best way to learn this stuff is to try it out on your own if you're really interested in it. Again, nothing works exactly the same on any two people... what works for Greg might not work for you but it might work for me... Experiment, try things out, and let us know what you like best.

Soakinuptherays
05-13-2003, 01:47 PM
Very oily skin may want to use a gel instead of an oil, I personally hate gels because they are so drying.

With Bronzers, you need to match your current skin tone to the right bronzing level for the best results.

I love my lotions sooooo much, but I'm going to try some gels to see if I like any.

njchica
05-13-2003, 03:35 PM
if you didn't like Ganja, you aren't going to like gels.

colorgod
05-13-2003, 09:17 PM
I've used some gels before and they were not as drying as Ganja. I'm just trying to find a new one.

I had no idea that UVR could be "magnified by a refractive prism" of oils, given that UVR is in the invisible range.............

boobrandt
06-12-2003, 10:25 PM
I'm a little confused. If we can't mention places that we order tanning lotions from, then why is it acceptable to basically advertise a line of products that you are selling? If I offend anyone I apologize in advance. Just new here, and trying to get the etiquette down!

PJ
06-12-2003, 10:33 PM
Ok, I have been searching for some information on this and can find none. So I ask Greg, where did you get this notion that you can magnify UVR by the use of oils as a 'refractive prism"? I have never heard of such a thing. And as I mentioned in my previous post, I can't understand how UVR which is invisible can be intensified by refraction or anything, much less a prism. If you have any sources of information that we are unaware of, preferably of the scientific type, please share it.

well since Greg has his company he spams most message boards. so people will possibly buy his product.

he should actually buy a banner to help support the sites he puts spam on but he generally likes to spam for free then get the heck outta dodge

I gave him a hard time about this post back when he posted it.... this was his first one. Since then, he has posted some excellent information without mentioning his company's name 500 times in every post. He has respected our wishes and continued to chime in now and then, adding his knowledge to our discussions... and we appreciate that.

true that he has.... but he is known for alot of his spamming of message boards. he hasn't posted in awhile though
