what makes you want to try a specific product? who sells you on it? sales staff at your salon? message boards like this? seeing a display at the salon? friends?
share with us where you become interested in certain lotions....

other tanners, and I like to hear from alot of them, I am not willing to take just one or two people's opinion on it.

Other tanners/salon owners from this site and others have spurred my interest in lotions. I am dying to try Swedish Hemp Creme since I have heard everyone rave about. I want to try Melon Frappe as my first cooling experience. I want to try something with a light bronzer and I am looking for just the right recommendation. I have been chicken to try these things before but you guys really boost my interest in the "unknown". And then after I get an opinion, I do other searches for information on the products before I finally decide what I want to try.

Reccomendations from other tanners are important to me. I don't put a lot of faith in displays or ads and the staff at my salon doesn't know a lot about which lotions are appropriate for their customers. I've only been tanning for a couple of months but without this board I wouldn't have a clue about lotions or skin care in general.

Since I am a salon attendant,I have access to tanning magazines & I read about products.
Since I discovered this board, theres more I want to try.My boss came in today & said he's getting some samples of the Ultimate line for us to try cause he's considering bringing it in.He only carries Fiesta Sun & some DS.I feel he needs to have more of a selection but hey,it's his salon.I'm excited about trying Ultimate's lotions since I have read some good things here. They really didn't pique my interest just seeing them in the catalog but I had planned on ordering some samples even before my boss told me that. Now I can try them for free.I can try anything for wholesale that our distributer carries so I take advantage of that.I'll try things that look interesting in the distributer catalog, too.

Hey color,
Who's in your "select group of people"????

well, Greta's not a mod, but I trust her. She gets information from all angles before reporting.

Was just wondering if I was in that trust worthy group????
Nearly all of my opinions here are mine personally.....whereas on some of the other sites I post my "business wise" opinion. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately those two do not always match!!!

This site is for personal experiences because we are people trying this and that to get an awesome tan. Also, we are a group of people striving to learn as much as we can about tanning smart, and having a great time at it.

I get all of my information about lotions online... the people at the salon I tan at do not try to sell lotions or give information about them.... so I get interested about products by hearing people on the boards talking about them. I can blame you guys for some MAJOR SPENDING now that I try all of this new stuff. I also love getting everyone's honest feedback. You know that if Anya or greta says that they love a lotion--they really like it. They're not trying to sell it to me.

I've tried all of the lotions I wanted to for this season (I think). I remember the days when I knew nothing about lotions and would walk in and say "can you pick me a lotion out?"

that is very true i am not trying to make any money of what i like lol if i didn't know the girls at the salon as well as i do they'd always tell me the most expensive is their fave.... but they know i don't fall for their sales crap so they get honest with me on what they like

yeah well we have nothing to gain by recommending or trashing a lotion... we just share our honest opinions about what we've tried in the hopes that other tanners can learn from our experiences.

Ive learned about lotions from day 1 online!!! Also great people on this board give some educated advise and it really makes it easy. Espically in sharing our likes/dislikes, sometimes we agree, sometimes not, it all helps !

I'm with njchica. I get my info online mostly. Hearing other's opinions on a lotion has caused me from making costly mistakes

I def judge on what lotions I will buy and try next mainly from peoples comments on here. This is the only place I get my tanning information and I really appreciate it. And so far I have gotten really good info off here and havent been disappointed with any lotions I bought from suggestions off here.

I get my information about tanning lotions online and mainly from this site. The lotions section is great because I can read about the good and bad things about a lotion and what really works and what doesn't and then decide if I want to give it a try or not.

Yep, I also get info and tanning lotion recommendations from this site mainly, then I'll actually talk to my SO about some lotions and tell her what's being praised and what's not and kinda compare notes with her and go from there...
I get most of my information from here! Theres nothing more valuable then a review by a real person!

I buy a lotion based on everyones reviews on it. I first bought Dark Sexy Tan beacuse my friend said it was really good. Im glad I tried it beacuse I love it. Alot of other lotions and moisturizers I buy are based on everyones opionions on this site. Its good to see alot of peoples input on lotions.

Opinions from this site are big I also like to get the input of clients that come into the salon. They give a real good idea for how a lotion worked for them and what they did and didn't like about it.
