I have read several times about applying lotion on damp skin, can you specify how damp? as in do not dry off at all first or lightly blot? also do you then apply a second coat of lotion? how long would you wait?

I always apply my moisturizer right after my shower after I lightly blot dry.

yes they mean to lightly blot excess water off of your skin but leave it moist, not bone dry....

and then when you get ready to go tan you would just layer your tanning lotion over that?

it depends upon how long I am waiting to tan. If it's going to be awhile then I moisturize... if I'm tanning soon after my shower then I just wait until I tan and then apply my lotion.

Shouldn't you wait at least an hour after showering to tan?

I guess you should if you plan to use a tingle... I've never heard anyone specifically say to wait at least an hour though....

6. Should I shower after a tanning session?
The tanning process actually continues for a period of time after a tanning session. Taking a shower will remove the mantel acid from your skin and slow down or stop this continued tanning process. It is recommended you not shower for 2 hours after your tanning session or 1 hour before.

7. Should I shower before a tanning session?
A shower is not recommended 1 hour before tanning but you should remove any makeup or perfume before your tanning session.

This is a part of the tanning tips I was given by my salon, and I have seen this on the web too.

Yes they have a handout printed up that they give you when you first sign up.

Talks about medications, the bed fading highlights and acrylic nails, etc., etc.

I just wanted to give a gist of what they had on the sheet. More stuff was never use a tingle on your face, only apply tingle to a small area at first to see if you can handle it.

I bet many do not even read it!
