What do you do when you've had a bad experience at your salon? A bad transaction, poor customer service, unclean bed, burned out lamps, etc? Do you let the manager/owner know that you're unhappy? Or do you just suck it up and keep it to yourself? Do you just tell everyone that you know? How do you handle it when the salon messes up?

well so far i have been lucky, but since my salon is a chain i call their corporate office. i actually did call about the condition of the canopy acrylics it was obvious some of them had not been changed in a loooooooong time. the corporate office called the location i tan at and asked them about it and it has since been corrected.

well I would complain until it suited me.....If I am paying for a service I want what I pay for. But there are usually good reasons. but I would speak up and LOUD if I had to

I complain to the owners, since one of them is always there.

I'm sure the owner would rather you get in touch with them somehow so that they are aware of the situation, instead of the customer telling everyone about it without at least reporting it.

Yeah, if something was amiss, I would complain. In fact, I was at one salon and one bed that I used had a burned out bulb. I told the manager / owner / whatever and it wasn't rectified. Well, that salon closed shop roughly a year ago when the salon I tan at now opened up. So that goes to show, if you ignore your customers, they will go elsewhere.

I've always had any problems rectified immediately. Once I was in an upgrade with 14 face tanners and 4 or 5 were burned out... I told the girls just so they would know that they would have to change the lamps soon.... she immediately credited me the $$ back into my account.

My salon has not been listening. So I think I"m switching soon.

colorgod, talk louder! seriously, tell them why you are thinking of switching, maybe it can be rectified.

i always tell the girls when bulbs are out, i am sure i couldhave called the corporate office quite a few times when there were 7 bulbs out in one of the beds i tanned in but i figured why be a pain i just told the girls working and it was fixed i didn't get credited which i should have but the girls do alot for me there, the hook me up good at times with free upgrades and stuff when i help them out.

Greta, I told the owner. He just tried to refute my claim by saying that the dark ends don't have anything to do with the bulb needing changing. Also, he tried to throw some technical mombo-jumbo that I saw right through.

My friend went to use a stand up vhr unit, well the lock thinggy on the door was broken, she went back to the kid working he said oh sorry i cant fix it now, do you still want to tan?? ( yea i do so the door can blow open for everone to see genius) he was the only one working so she couldnt complain to anyone else, she walked out and put a call into the owner.

Did they fix the lock? At least, maybe they'll fix it.

My salon doesn't even want to change bulbs that evidently need to be replaced.

I would tell the salon ...but take note on how they handled the complaint...did they fix the problem...or just let it go...I would probably even mention it a second time......

I usually speak up. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

As a salon owner I would want someone to tell me whatever they have a problem with. We can't fix things if we don't get told. Please do keep this in mind before you decide to leave your salon.

i let my salon owner know. they are great about it, and usually give me like 20 or 30 extra credits.

I'd probably say something, although my salon's really well kept, but I might slip it into convo politely

Well I work at my salon... so I never have any complaints. We've never gotten any either, except once this lady was telling me how she thought I was the only one who worked there that didn't act like a robot But if it were me... I'd definitely speak up if I didn't like how things were being taken care of. It's just like any other service you get provided w/. If you didn't like your haircut, you'd say something. If your meat is undercooked, you say something. A salon should be no different. You're a paying customer, so you should get what you're paying FOR.

Colorgod, the owner may have been telling you the truth. Blackends on lamps doesn't mean the lamps have to be changed.

I get right up in the owners face, politely ( it is a psychological thing, invade the personal comfort zone and voice my concerns, I usually get what I want (that combined with my physical presence hehehe!!!)) and tell them nicely what happened and why I am feeling the way I am about it.

If I have a problem at a salon I would tell the owner. I did that once and got a free tan out of it

If there were ever a problem at my reg. salon I would talk to my salon owner - I've been going there almost a year and have never had any problems, she's really on top of things I have been to other salons that turned out to be really nasty and I've just never gone back!

If I hate the service or beds, i find a new salon! I have found a great salon and keep going back.
